Man, I loved all of those games except Legend of Dragooon.
Never could get into that game...
Suikoden 1 and 2. Cannot stress them enough.
2 pages and no Persona?

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was an incredible rpg, definitely give it a try if you can get a copy from somewhere.
And Atlus should die in fire for not releasing an English version of Innocent Sin.
I played the first Persona and got pretty far into it. I really didn't like the way they did dungeons though. :/
No, you're garbage.
SaGa Frontier was pretty damn niice.
Yeah, completely random level-up system, absence of any kind of pointers as to where you go next to progress a story, a random battle system that punished you for running across the field screen and muddy, ugly 2d sprites for everything = pretty damn nice.
Maybe I'm just spoiled because it came out almost an entire month after final fantasy tactics. Or maybe I can tell the difference between a game with polish and one without.
Well, for one... the level-up system wasn't random.
There were plenty of pointers as to where to go, and what do you mean punished you for running across the field screen?
What punishment?
I can't say anything about the sprites, they weren't the greatest.
I didn't like Saga Frontier 2. Liked the battle system though. I played a variety of PS1 RPGs and the ones I still have are:
Valkyrie Profile
Granstream Saga
Legend of Legaia
Legend of Dragoon
Persona 2
Grandia
Parasite Eve 1 & 2
Thousand Arms
Breath of Fire III & IV
Donno if it was already posted but a couple great RPGs for the PS1 are Chrono Cross, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete (hard to find) and the one before it, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete (they're named like that because they are remakes of the original Sega CD versions, then again remakes of the remakes for Sega Saturn, lol)
EDIT: Oh, and Legend OF Mana. Amazing RPG with at the time innovative gameplay. Only real draw back is that if you don't go through the game a certain way, it's possible to make yoruslef stuck to where you can't complete the game![]()
Don't turn on the PS2 enhancements with Legend of Mana, btw. Screws the game up.
Blood Omen: Forget the name but the original Legacy of Kain game was great way back when...
Edit: Bah someone mentioned it already...
I remember playing brave fencer musashi so much. Never beat it though. Makes me want to dl a rom of it for ePSX but I have a feeling it would suck on a keyboard. Legend of Legaia is a great game. Tomba and tomba 2 are must plays for me. One game I don't know if anyone else has played was Monster Seed.
Fuck you for bringing up Monster Seed.
I HATE that game.
My dad made me beat it, back in the day if my dad bought a game and I didn't play it all the way through I'd get in trouble :/
