Floor 100 is being a bastard to us. Hoping to do 2 runs tonight and finally get some drops. We're done with Denali Feet and Askar Bodys almost tho.

Only thing we've gotten from floor 100 are weapons. Really lame.

Everyone has their 1-2 items from Nyzul that doesn't exist, lol. We've gotten 5 Askar bodies and 2 Denali, but 0 Goliard; 7(I think?) Trews, 2 Kecks, 0 Askar; 4 Wristbands, 3 Askar, and 1 Goliard from our first 60 ever(like 6-7 months ago :/). I'm glad the event itself is fun and challenging, b/c otherwise the streaky/random drops would drive me fucking nuts.

Eh it is to me, even if you've done it 200 times over you still get hit with some shit like Cerberus with no JAs that really tests your group(we wiped at 2% to that on Sunday, we've won it before though).

that's not challenging though, its just retarded, it'd have to be semi-difficult at least a small percentage of the time, you just got unlucky.

Relative to something like Dynamis or Limbus where you know exactly what's going to pop, when it's coming, where it's coming from, and what path it'll take I think it's refreshing to at least get something with a bit of randomness on every run, whether it's getting shafted on luck or not.

I definitely agree with this ... Nyzul is perhaps one of the most fun things I do, and what I like most is that I actually get XP from the mobs we kill, unlike Dynamis or Limbus. Helps to rebuild what I lose in other events.

Ramzii no offense but you are the person I often wonder why they are still playing. If you aren't rolling with the blows/shafts/excitment/randomness that FFXI gives you (Nyzul is probably the most random event out there that I do) whats entertaining in the game for you still? I personally hate doing things that offer no form of challenge even if I'm simply farming an item because xx wants it. The chance that we might get a White Magic Pathos on a Fafnir or Cerb, annoying as it is, is fucking amazing to try and pull off a win. Take the randomness out and you might as well be a monkey at a typewriter as someone on another thread put it.


And Aksannyi I totally agree with you about the exp in Nyzul, I think its the only way some of my more random jobs stay buffered.

also, I suppose its the fact that I did 7 nyzul's a week for 7 months straight that caused it to suck balls, I can see cerb sucking with pathos, but if you have fanatics drinks on fafnir you can easily zerg it down

His role in the party? [edit] Backup healer. (The blu was apparently the main healer). He did it all with cures, never once used healing breath. His sole purpose was to spend his meager ~100 mp on Cure 2 and 3.

Hey, that's me in the screenshot (that's me that took the screenshot), and I felt like I should comment on this.

For one thing, I did feel a little bit bad for the guy because he said it's his first/highest job. But still, a lvl 1 ring at lvl 59? He could probably afford a better ring just by selling that one... The upside is, his horrible acc and the fact that he was still using his af weapon didn't really matter, because he never attacked anything. He was entirely too busy dropping those awesome Cure 2's and 3's on us. Oh, and don't let his overwhelmingly poor gear distract you from the fact that his whm sub is underlvl'd (I'm under the impression that it's the only sub he has lvl'd, but I'm not actually sure).

But I'm afraid he wasn't even the only problem with the party. See how I'm wearing drg af there? Yeah, I was our tank. Notice my MP pool? That's because I was subbing rdm so I could rescue us with Healing Breath (you know, that thing our other drg never used). I was tanking as drg/rdm and holding hate purely through jumps and penta. It was tragically awesome.

We were xping like madmen, with our amazing 60-80xp/kill on lesser colibri (that blu who was healing for us was lvl 62). I did eventually convince them to let us try puks. We fought two, the drk (that's his elbow on the right side of the screenshot) died, and the party ran back to colibri. That was around the time I left.

For the record, our setup was drg drg bst drk blu sam. I had no words, and my linkshell spent most of the afternoon counseling me after the trauma I endured.
