My problem with upgrading to new FF is they change around too much stuff and it looks ugly. I can't even upgrade to the newest FF2 because they changed where the X is to close tabs. They're all next to each specific tab instead of in a static location on the right. I checked out the youtube vids of FF3 and they have that same shit there so.. no thanks.

Just upgraded and already want to downgrade, almost every single one of my plugins do not work with FF3.0

It's really not. I can see a noticeable difference in speed between 2.014whatever and 3.0. That and the interface isn't that bad. I like the new back button, refresh, home, and what not. (I've always used the default skin) and just a little work to replace my plug-ins.

I can't understand why anyone would hate the new AwesomeBar, but in the spirit of being helpful, those who want the old style back while still using FF3 might want to check out this plugin:

Edit: on further examination that plugin only seems to adjust the way it looks, doesn't actually change the way that the bar works. Oh well.

Personally I've been using FF3 on two different OS's for a couple weeks now and I've loved it so far. Location bar makes things easier for me to find since it can search based on subject title, new Mac skin looks a lot nicer than the old one, and my favorite feature being the ability to quit and save my current tabs. In FF2 I used to force kill my browser if I needed to quit and come back later, that way it would try to restore my tabs - now I won't have to do that anymore.

Oh, another tip if you don't like the way the new Back button looks (way to big imo) you can make it smaller by right clicking, click customize, and then check use small icons.

Dunno.. only two tabs there, but I've got tons open as you can see, and I'm at 109k with a little CPU usage and like 7 tabs open. That's odd.

It does seem to use an awful lot of memory, not an issue for the PC enthusiast like me but might cause problems for people with low-end computers. I dunno how that guy got it up to 200k, might have some spyware or something going on in there.

My rikaichan works fine, but my dictionary isn't. Yeah, mine is updated to 1.02 (updated when I installed Firefox 3.0), but it doesn't have the proper dictionary for some reason. Gonna look for it now.

the only thing i dislike about FF3 is the pop-up for downloads. i don't really need to be told i'm saving a pic every time. FF1 had it as a "feature," FF2 removed it, and now its back with an updated look.

Then it will only pop up for a second. i know there is also a way to edit the about:config page to get it to not to pop up but pop under the window.

only plug in that i lost and sad about was Linkification. it was so damn useful....

But, i love 3.0 so far. so much better imo. then again i may only like it because avg 8.0 net safe broke with the update.

hmmm that memory usage seems nprmalish, my fire fox 2.0.0.14 does same thing after about 1 day of usage goes into the near or higher 200MB range 9and can just have 1 tab open)
