Well I in no way, shape, or form intend on trying this. I have a linkshell for that, and I have much more interesting shit to do than try and tank tiamat for 5 hours, through several stacks of toolbags of shihei, and 600k of remedies.

Interesting though, how would someone make him flail by training shit to it?
Sleep a mob directly under his chest where he lands, it will displace him, or god forbid you forget blockaid, cast on an add, dc, anything and someone gets on the hate list, that tiamat is going to be flying all over the entire spawn area.

A certain LS when I was on Titan used to do it all the time- you train mobs onto the Dragon, and since no two mobs can be in the same position, the dragon turns and takes a step back to move out of the position of the Antlion/Lizard/Damselfly, and if he has TP will trigger a flail.

It's no 2 mobs with hate on any players, pretty much. Best example I can give would be darters in DA(in before there's darters in DA??). Unaggro'd they can pass right through Fafhogg and it won't matter, aggro one and run it through you just might see some fireworks.

Anyway, I thought DoT kills are usually pretty much TP limitation strategies(I'm thinking things like Rapido here). For most of the fight whatever mob wouldn't really have the TP to fuck you like that, though over 5 hours or however long it would take, shit would eventually hit the fan. There's no way to argue that, so I wouldn't try. Plus I could be wrong about the tp limitation thing.

I'd imagine on Tiamat you'd want to apply Bio right before touchdown and tank through the ground phase since you obviously can't sleep it with DoT's, reapply once or twice? I don't know how long it lasts honestly. I'm going to assume Tiamat has tp regen though(I really don't know one way or the other, all the kill I have been to were with damage almost the entire time), so this is all moot on him.

As far as the resisted ES nuke on the pudding, could it have possibly been a day resist? ES won't do shit for that. I've personally killed many many many Cerb, Khim, Fafhoggs, and Tiamats, I've never seen an ES anything that could possibly land get flat out resisted, only the aforementioned duration reductions. Of course I'm not claiming that if I didn't see it, it's not possible, but I have to be skeptical.

Incorrect. Take it from someone who just recently had an ES Freeze II half-resisted on a Pudding literally minutes after explaining to his friend that the first rule of BLM soloing is "Thou Shalt Have Thy Nukes Resisted On Chain #5". ES grants a huge boost to magic accuracy, but after that incident in particular I'm convinced it's not 100%.

Also note QQTH and the fact that ES Gravity is able to land on it but usually does not.
the reason ES grav doesn't land on QQTH would be because of him being a THF, which has Resist Gravity trait. Traits like Resist Gravity, bind, sleep are calculated after your ES/M.Acc

Out of 4 years of playing BLM, i've yet to see a resist, (minus enfeebles on gods)...

if by somechance people have actually gotten resisted with ES, this is the same "100%" argument as the charybdis dropping joyuese

on the topic of tiamat, if you're going rdm/nin, be prepared to eat a firaga3 every 60seconds

It was as if I was drawn here when the OP said "DM's videos."

But on that note, I've had PLD mobs resist Sleepga II when stacked with ES, so yea.

    Re: Tiamat Question

I was always under the assumption that a Resist-X job trait had nothing to do with one's resistance per se, and that it was simply a dice-roll as to whether or not you would resist an effect.

I actually knew this but completely forgot about it for some reason, my bad.

No, I'd have known if it was a negative day/weather proc, it was most definitely a flat-out half resist. In fact I'm pretty sure it was on iceday (and sans fire weather), which was why I used Freeze II in the first place - to show off the damage to my friend who I was helping hit BLM75.

you can't really count any xarc demon past the NM towers. those things get absolutely retardedly resistant to sleep past that point, something is different about them

Aside from the odd resist due to them being high level I don't normally have a problem sleeping Kindred except for the fucking WHMs. I don't know what's up with them, but they resist sleep more than the god damn PLDs.

Could just be my imagination, but the only freak Sleep and Lullaby resists I ever have at Mamool Ja Staging Point are from Blusters.

295 enfeeb, dark obi, int/macc stacked everywhere else, and it frequently takes more than 2-3 sleeps to land on monks, warriors, white mages, and sometimes bards past teh xarc NM towers (this is on blm by the way).

    Re: Tiamat Question

I'd think that an amazingly well-geared, Excal/Aegis PLD/NIN(or /rdm? would take more damage on ground but less in air with Barfire) with max merits and possibly medicines (Vile Elixirs, etc.) would be the most likely candidate to solo Tiamat, but still, long story short, it's impossible.
