I dont know why but the fact is the developer team made all gear you get as a reward for beating an avatar a one thing only.

3 years ago when i was just a lvl 50ish RDM, I had a change to do 2 Ifrit fights in 2 days. The first i got the pact and the second i was hasty and got the sword thinking a RDM could use it. When I saw I couldnt I droped because I had very little space.

Now, I found out I cant get it again. It dont even show in the choices.

So if anyone here have a way to sugest something to the SE team, pls sugest they cut this crap and let we get a r/x item again after we droped it. Is not like I will get the item and sell for gil or anything. Is just stupid that I had to see the future and see thats a good sword for a future job that neither they knew at the time.

The point of these types of quests are for people to use careful consideration in deciding to choose items, etc. And on the avatar fights, there is even a disclaimer screen showing you full description of the item before you confirm for a last time whether or not you want it.

To be fair, you also get to look at every quest/mission item that has multiple choices. Many of them are even re-questable these days like RoZ earrings, CoP rings, AN earrings. You can spend 20k assault points to reacquire rare/ex armors you might have thrown out. Avatars are pretty much the only things that don't have rewards you can re-obtain.

Not saying this is a good topic, just saying the idea isn't bad or wrong and some people are being a bit harsh.

Solution: People need to be packrats, or start using their brains, or any combination of the two.

I almost never toss any r/ex armor or weapon. Sure, my inventory is constantly clogged from - as of right now - useless weapons and r/ex stuff, and I have to mule a lot for D-boxable gear and items, but on the whole it's been very much worth it.

I'm not saying it's not a good point either, but it's more of why he took it in the first place that I'm pointing out. He got it cuz he thought RDM would be able to use it, then when he leveled to it, THEN he realized it wasn't on the job list.

If he'd paid attention, he wouldn't have taken it in the first place, and it would still be an option for him now.
