BLM AF requesting..

I've never redone AF quests before, but I talked to Vingijard in lower jeuno, had my memory wiped, and tried to restart the quests, but it won't let me do any. I dropped all pieces except my head and body, do I need to drop those as well in order to start over? Also all the quests still show in the "completed" section of my quest log. Do those disappear once I clear my memory?

I've tried talking to Chumimi but she just talks to me like I've already done the quests...

edit: I tried making a GM call and all he said was "do you have a glowstone?" I said no because you get that from the af1 quest which I wasn't able to start and he said "I'm sorry this is working as intended I can't help blah blah blah"...

You don't need to drop anything to restart the quests--but you will need to drop (or upgrade) an item before you get the final CS where you receive it again.

But ya, if you can't start the wand quest then something isn't working. Try the memory eraser again? Are you on BLM when talking to Chumimi?

Ya, was on BLM at the time. I tried talking to the memory eraser npc again, and it only gives option for my pld and whm, not my blm anymore. And I rechecked all active quests, and none are AF quests.

I also tried getting a faded crystal again and going to Xarca on BLM but it won't pop the ele.

I ran into the same problem with redoing SMN.

Here's where I fucked up.

I reset SMN AF and requested to get horn back.

I left SMN hands open.

I erased WHM memory as SMN then went to start WHM AF Weapon.

After getting WHM weapon, I went to Borghertz (forgetting SMN hands were still not flagged) on SMN and flagged SMN again because I'm retarded. This locked WHM hands until I finished SMN.

I finished SMN hands then went and changed to WHM (durr) and flagged WHM hands.


You have another open AF quest on a different job that you have to finish.

Sounds like you haven't gotten all the AF out of coffers for BLM...

Sort of on topic I guess, I tossed my SAM AF weapon years ago and want to take up Samurai again. Can I just go talk to the NPC who gives the quest and just redo it?

You need to erase your memory with the Elvaan in Lower Jeuno first. I think he was in the jewelry store.

On that note, could I just get one piece of AF for one job, then erase it to get AF for another job?

You have another open AF quest on a different job that you have to finish.

The only quest that you can only have one active at a time of is hands, all the other ones don't matter.

And before anyone says anything, you do NOT need to open the hands quest to open your coffers, just opening AF2 does the trick. (this might not be true for the FIRST time you do it, remember how you had to talk to extra npcs the first time doing hands quest? yeah, but 2nd time+, it is NOT required)

I have no idea what you're doing wrong, if you erased the memory you should be able to restart your AF1 quest. Did you go into Horutoto to talk to that gate to get that key item and last cs of the blm af?

@The other person: No idea what you're asking, but I'm pretty sure you need to get all your pieces before you can erase the memory.

Also, like it's been mentioned before, you only need to toss your AF at the time you're re-obtaining it.
