    Flash Player Confusion

Sorry for any real noob questions but I just dont get it and noone else to ask about it.

    1) How can you tell what flash player or version ur computer is using? I have QuickTime player, and some Adobe reader8 which isnt anything to do with this i think. So am I right that QuickTime is my flash player?

    2) Should I be using Adobe flash player that everyone is updating from BG? If so should I be deleting Quicktime as well?

Just click the link and install it -.-

    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download ... kwaveFlash

    End of problem.

And no, quicktime is not the same, but you should keep ALL of your apps up to date on patches.

You wont...unless you get the standalone player. Otherwise it installs itself as a plugin and only uses it when requested by an app.

you'll need to allow scripts on that page for the test.

if you use firefox, type this into your the address bar:
    about:plugins

    then look for Shockwave Flash
under that it will have the version, such as: Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124
(if its 124, thats up to date)

a quicker way is to check here:

quicktime is from apple. a totally different thing. it is used to play movies.

That's a beta version. You really shouldn't update with beta versions, but whatever floats your boat.

So he was right, the current /full/ version of Flash is 9.0 r124.
