Bad idea to run updates through windower at least that's always been my thinking.

I have always thought the same thing.

Windower and everything works fine for me. Updated it with windower enabled too (and restarted after to enable windower again).

I recently reformatted and reinstalled FFXI (after finally getting my account back! WOO!) and had this issue after updating. I think I did it through Windower. I just rebooted my computer and it worked fine afterwards. I've never had issues with updating through windower in the past, but I think I"m going to avoid it just because I'd never seen that error before.

Yea, i never update with Windower, always seem to break when im close to update finish, so noraml POL > update > turn down > start windower.

Well I didn't know there was an update. I logged on this morning and there was nothing. I was about to log on a 2nd character when I got it so I kinda just went through it. My first character is STILL inside the game, but I can't seem to log on again >_>

It *can* work when running the update through Windower, but the potential for problems is a lot higher.

Well I'm in the middle of something right now so I don't wanna get locked out on my first character. I'll try restarting later and post if it works fine or not.

I've seen that error message when people updated with Windower, but no clue how to fix it. Sorry.
