ApRadar not working well

It did show mobs in Boneyard Gully, hence the thread. With original apradar maps it wouldn't show them, but with Sean's maps it did. Anyway, I'll ask around windower forums or something I guess.

ApRadar is only a memory reader, it doesn't use said memory to bot stuff like ffxiapp. You can call it cheating, but it's just another tool like windower.

It will show them, but not where they are, it'll just say everything is in 1 spot just to acknowledge they are there, at least thats how it goes for me. As for the OP, I'm assuming he saw an ant underground on a zone with a map or a yovra above ect and wanted to know why it wouldn't work for the place w/o a map.

Hypocrisy by condemning people using ApRadar when he uses it himself. I've only played around with it a little bit, I found it to be kinda awkward but that might be because I didn't tweak any of the settings.

There are different ways of using things, is it wrong to use a hunting rifle to kill another person? If so, it's wrong to use a hunting rifle for target practice.. or does your logic only apply when it supports your argument?

I've never used ApRadar, nor do I use fillmodes. I'm competent enough to get along fine without them, thanks.

This is an interesting discussion and is something I've been thinking about lately. People are OK with things like windower macros and SpellCast even though they alter game mechanics. A program like ApRadar does not modify the game's memory or behavior (other than whatever it needs to do to hook into the process), and it seems like you can easily find the information that ApRadar uses by starting with the Almighty Apkallu thread. I remember seeing arguments for showing alliance MP/TP was because it was in memory; well, so are the object positions in your vicinity (in before the "it's not the same thing" argument -- whatever, buddy).

Thats why people use Seans Map Pack, you can see where they are below the ground in the ENM.

Exactly, that's what I was saying. With Sean's maps you could see the exact position of the 4 Antlions while under the ground, thus being able to avoid the minor ones. I've asked in the Windower forums, still waiting for an answer.

Just a quick question, I've been using ApRadar to duo Sheep in Antlion's Clothing for some time now, and I just did a run (first after the update) and the radar didn't show anything other than the Dark Miasma, same as it used to do before DLing Sean's(?) maps. Is this some sort of bug, or does anyone know what's up with it?

Eh, ApRadar is weird.

Without altering anything(using Sean's map pack), I went from being able to see everything, to not being able to 2 weeks later.

Then for ~2-3 months, I've not been able to see mobs inside the BC(can still see Cave Antlions). Then the other day when we did another duo Sheep in Antlions Clothing, I was magically able to see them again. Dunno what to say.

5:13 duo though. No 2hr/Icarus. ;x

So this is another apps outside Windower right ?

Cause if it is I wont use it, I tho this was a pluging coming with Windower.

Quite frankly, the ethics of the situation are totally relevant in my opinion. If we think he's a cheat, why would we help him, or encourage others to?

So basically you're saying that because the purpose of this forum is to be polite and helpful (as least compared to advanced), we're supposed to help people even if it's in regards to their cheating? Basically, you're advocating that this is an appropriate forum for ffxiapp or anything else--so long as we're "helping". Nice.

Check the recent "Is camping on someone wrong" thread if you want to know what the acceptable level of discourse is in this forum. In the mean time, we've made the following things clear:
1. ApRadar (& fillmode exploitation) is cheating
2. People disagree on how "bad" these types of cheating are
3. OP got pointed to the windower thread so he should get an answer soon enough
4. Bitching about the ethics of plugin/app use will not stop other people from using them, nor encourage people who do not use them to do so.

I'll be quite surprised if the people claiming that using ApRadar for SiAC is "blatant cheating" purposefully don't use fillmodes in Nyzul Isle as a matter of principle.

I think it's blatantly cheating, and I never use fillmodes in Nyzul Isle. In fact, I made my friend in my static stop doing it as well, to much whining and groaning, and guess what - we still clear it fine. Takes a couple more minutes, but hey, as long as we kill the shit and get the loot...
