How did X series end? I used to have every megaman game from 1-8 then all the X series and most of the network battles and legends. The one megaman rpg I really liked was the one on gamecube with the guy spider. Very good game but I don't think a lot of people played it.

Sigma keeps coming back and he won't die. That's about it. I think in one of them you even fight sigma as a zombie robot for some weird reason and hes a panzy.

Yeah, Sigma can't die. I think they mentioned how they killed him in the Zero series. He was a zombie robot in 6 because he didn't have enough time to recover. X6 was 2 weeks after X5.

Legends series has no official end but there isn't any major plot points left undone, I don't think... its been a long time and I never did find a copy of Misadventures of Tron Bonne.
I dont remember much, but there was a ton of mystery unsolved. In fact, nothing at all was solved about the aliens race where megaman was born. The only thing you kill is a guardian or something.

The X series was by far my favorite, I never really got into the Battle Network series (played a little bit of the first game).
[spoiler:3mhmok3k]Each X game had a ending, but every new game was just the return of sigma since he was a computer virus. I can't remember the specifics of the last game, but I thought it had multiple endings in w/either X or Zero sacrifices themself to kill Sigma (or blow up his space base). Its been so long[/spoiler:3mhmok3k]

I remember the one when if you played as zero you had to fight his girlfriend or some crap. I was the only person on my block that could do it

There's actually people on the same block as you that plays video games, let alone the same ones you do? I wish I had that over here.

MMX 1-3 are the best, I think 3 is my favorite though.

[spoiler:2v12x54h]X4 was not too shabby though, I really liked when Zeros story unfolds and you discover his past. Former Maverick turned hunter was pretty damn awesome. Sigma originally being a hunter too was awesome. After X4 though it went straight downhill.[/spoiler:2v12x54h]

haha no. This was like 4-6yr's ago. Now I don't know many people with the same interest in games as me. I don't know many people who even play CoD4 or FFXI by me

Command Mission, and it was pretty decent, not great but good.

As to how the X series ended, it's a little sketchy. The end of X5 is supposed to be the end. At the end of X5, Zero seals himself away to deal with the zero virus he's producing, and X loses all memory of him and just lives out his life. This connects perfectly into the Zero series where Zero is awakened by Ciel and all that stuff starts happening.

However, they realized that no more games means no more money and so they started pumping out more games. All the stuff that's happened after X5 is kinda... alternate universe or something, lol. That's the best way to look at it.

Re: Mega Man Star Force 2

    To recap X8:

[spoiler:2667f996]The new generation reploids (Axl is the prototype of this, and the events around that surround X7) that can transform into any reploid they have programmed into their bodies are immune to all known viruses, but because they can transform into infected reploids like Sigma, they can "turn Maverick" at will. (This is sort of what Dr. Light originally feared when he built X. Reploids had emotions but could not be evil. The Virus changed that by forcing them to become evil. By turning maverick at will, the new generation reploids can basically choose to be good or bad like a human.

Lumine is the one behind all the events. He tries to destroy earth and the humans and old reploids with it. Sigma is thought to be the true villian (he sort of is, him and Vile try to make a new moon base on the moon and lead all reploids there to live without humans), but he is killed by Lumine. After Lumine's defeat, a tentacle erupts from Lumine's lifeless shell and attacks Axl, destroying his crystal. Axl becomes infected with -something-, but no one knows what really. Zero's ending shows that he'll keep on fighting, no matter what. X's ending makes him think if they'll ever win against the Mavericks.[/spoiler:2667f996]

Edit: Atma is sort of correct. At the end of X5, Zero actually dies (for real this time, lol!). The Zero series actually fits in better with X6's ending. In Zero's ending of X6, he talks to an unnamed scientist about sealing him away to contain the virus in his system. This leads better into the Zero series (since Zero is found in a chamber with his name on it, protected by a forcefield. It doesn't look like he was found there repairing but found there waiting)

Re: Mega Man Star Force 2

I base my storyline claims from a written article about the Megaman storyline written by some dude at 1-up to celebrate Megaman's 20th anniversary. It's fan made so it's not official, but it's very well written and convincing. You can find it here, but this is the little bit I am referring to:

(These events, concluding in Mega Man X5, seemed to bring the series to the conclusion creator Keiji Inafune intended. Unfortunately, Capcom went ahead and milked the series for several more games, effectively negating the finality of X5's ending and making a total mess of the connection between the X and Zero series. So we're going to pretend the later X games don't really matter, because really, they don't.)

Re: Mega Man Star Force 2

To say they don't matter is foolish, because Inafune himself says that even though he intended it to end at X5, he tweaked the storyline of MMZ to tie in with X6.

Edit: And even if he did tweak it to match X6, so Zero goes into hiding then, X7 and X8 still matter at some point because of the appearence of Biometal Model A. Even though Model A is supposed to stand for [spoiler:r2avl0gv]Model Albert[/spoiler:r2avl0gv], its CLEARLY Axl. So he has to connect in there at some point.

In the end though, its all speculation. I'm sure not even Inafune himself can make all the connections, lol.

Re: Mega Man Star Force 2

Unless everyone Wiki'd (or did a search on the X series backstory), Im very impressed on how much some of you remember about the story. I loved the X series of games the most, and I forgot soo much of this stuff. It brings back many fond memories and kinda makes me want to DL & play them randomly again.
[spoiler:3uyf7otk]The secret weapon techniques you could get in the [later] series of games was great. The SF fireball, hidden armor's, ect...![/spoiler:3uyf7otk]

Re: Mega Man Star Force 2

Megaman is my favourite videogame series, ever. I have played and beaten almost every Megaman game I can think of (not including some ports that didn't add much. The only real Megaman games I never played were Wonderswan Megaman, Megaman GP Chip Challenge, Super Adventure Rockman, Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Megaman on those Tiger Handhelds, Megaman 3 for the PC ((the real shitty one with like Torch Man and shit)), Megaman Powered Up and Megaman Maverick Hunter X ((due to lack of PSP)) and the cell phone Megaman ports. Other than these either obscure, Japanese only or titles I just couldn't get/find, I have played and beat every Megaman game, including different versions of the same games for BN4, 5 and 6). When I was 4 I would pretend to be Megaman lol.

I actually picked up Megaman Star Force 2 Zerker x Saurian today. I choose Saurian. My friend code is:

Re: Mega Man Star Force 2

I liked MMBN1 2 but after that they fucking pushed it. Star Force looks like a buffed up version of BN. I was going to get it for my flashcart and I even decided not to when I saw screens of the first one. MMBN+3D does not = good game! MMBN+3D = Same old shit in 3d.
