Solo Route 7-37 with PL

Pling my PLD with gjallarhorn. Anyone have a favorite route they use for soloing to 37?

Worms are great. Giddeus -> KRT -> Shakhrami to 20.
Then goblin pets:
Beetle/Dragonfly/Bee around Jeuno
Bee in Yhoator
Rarab in Bibiki
Gallinipper in Attohwa
Sheep in Lufaise/Misareaux
Spider in Altepa

Tack on Qufim worms to 25ish, then I always found Mandragoras with their weaknesses to almost everything to be pretty good to 32/33.

I agree with worms, they're nice and weak which is groovy since I tend to pull the beastman with his pet more often than not.

Right near Megalobugard, there's a few Gigas, at least one of which is almost always a BST. Careful of Fomor up in the tower at night, and obvious Bugard/Gigas aggro. Camping on top of the tower is a nice place to sit, but it's not viable 20:00-4:00 for the reasons I just mentioned.

Mage or melee? Mage probably, melee gets difficult because Full-force Blow does a lot of damage and Gastric Bomb has a potent Attack Down effect.

Depends on the subjob, really. DRK, RNG, NIN, THF, DNC (they all have ranged attacks (BLOODY BOLTS ARE GODLY) and/or protective shadows) are all wormable. RDM, BLM, SCH also.

Probably others that I'm not thinking of.

I like beastmen pets, but sometimes they are pretty terrible. Like when they wander far away, or are surrounded by other aggressive mobs. There is this one spot in Misareaux Coast where two Gigas Beastmasters can pop, (near the river where the one cluster NM can pop) but the wander patterns can be just awful. But if things are just right, the XP is phenomenal.

Also, is it just me, or does this happen to other people? When I am killing beastmen pets, random people will run by and kill the beastmaster while leaving every other mob in the vicinity undisturbed. Really sucks and happens even in out of the way places. >_>

I've done Sam, Thf, Mnk, Drg solo and duo with a friend on Pets regularly.

With two people a little early at the camps it's mindbendingly awesome, til you pull and the mob paths through the Bst and you are screwed.

If you have a good puller and one is a Thf, have the Thf 2hr and log, works awesomely.

Lower delkfutts, where Hippolytus pops, you can get 1 Bst in the room, and 2 outside the room, awesome exp at 18-21.

Just north of where Roc pops, there is a Gob camp that ALWAYS has a Bst in it, and is fairly safe even solo, random mobs roam through the pop from time to time, and sometimes if you're luck you get another Gob Bst just north or south of it, stay til 24-25~.

Yhoator gob is well known, just be patient and polite or you'll make enemies fast, 25-29~.

Bibiki Rarab 29-31, I don't like going too low, that rabbit hits like a goddamn freight train for some reason.

Then, Beauc has two awesome camps.

The one tower where the Boreas Cesti tiger pops, keep going past that tower instead of south towards Batallia, can have PL kill the tiger in the tunnel and keep two gigas up easily.

Or, soloable you can get the two gigas at the last pond to Fei'Yin up as Bst's with a little work and it's an AWESOME camp cause there is no aggro in those tunnels, so just gotta be a little patient and watch the pulls.

For 34-37~ camp where Dune Widow roams, up on the back side of that sand dune, right up at the top, you can avoid basically all aggro and just chain the fuck out of those spiders.

37~40 you can get something STUPID like 6 Gigas Bst's up at the far northeast boreal mob's tunnel, one or two inside, and like 3 or 4 outside, it's ridiculous, I wanna see a group have someone clear all the aggro and PL a lvl 30~ party there some time, Chain 100 at lvl 30 anyone?

You're not alone, I've had people do that quite a bit, even in Rangemount Pass.

To contribute to this topic, without a PL I'd stick to BST pets, and for what it's worth put up a /seacom with your camp. For every jackass that ignores it, there are people that have asked me to team up, or how long I was going to stay there so they could do something else until I was done.

Umm I usually level my sub with my PL when it's not a mage her'es the path :

Now Im not sure anymore what level it caps on Ghelsba outspost but here's the path approximately :

7-11 Ghelsba Outpost (search for EM-T or DC-EM), if you can't find an EM, just move up or zone to Fort)
11-15 Fort Gheslba (same stuff, usually I take the elevator and fight there, good camp, safe and you can rest without beeing aggro if you have to go eating etc.. once they drop to DC-EP, move up, pass the firethrower or go on the right).
15-21 Yugott Grotto Go all the way back to West Ronfaure zone, then take the entrance to yughott here, fight there against orc, same stuff when they drop to DC-EP move up a bit in the grotto
21-23 Valkrum Dunes kill gob/flies/sheep/leech/pugils everything that cons EM-T (not T hard def, regulard T).
23-28 Qufim Island kill Wight/giants/crab/pugs/worms depends on level
28-33 Yhutunga Mandy then smithy
33-36 Yhoator Jungle Mandy then gobs
36-37 Usually I'm going outside jeuno and try to find a spot with Evil weapon free.

With this path you're fighting EM-T orc until 21, I find orc kinda good cause they are quite weak, hit fairly hard but since you have PL you should be ok. After that it's a breeze in the air, take care of smithy when you're underleveled in yutunga.

If you want ot use RA you can go that way too :

18-25 Korroloka tunnel, it goes really fast if you have a good range atk, could maybe try pld/rng since pld have archery skill I think. Didnt leveled pld at all so can't tell sorry ><

With a PL I wouldnt recommend going for Bstmen pet, I notice the repop was too slow and killing the exp you got by fast kill. Better find a camp with lots of EM-T and roam like in merit pt.

Nevermind, they just removed most of their spawn points... They used to be a lot more abundant, just checked update notes from years back.
