I actually did it to one of my ls members by mistake yesterday. She just zoned in ran over to grab her battle tag and I popped hide to try to mpk the bot caster and they got her first. I lol'd.

God forbid somebody get 12,000XP over the course of 8 hours on a job that they were going to XP anyways without harming anyone. Not everyone can afford to spend the spare time to level a ton of jobs.

Also, it accepts raises automatically and continues, you're retarded.

Besides, if they can sit in Aery/BD/Vos for hours on end and chase around all the other HNMs, they can Exp like the rest of us.

I didn't realize people where botting campaign yet, but I guess that was just hopefulness on my part. Next update: You can no longer receive xp in campaign unless you give or take physical damage. Also the monsters are level 80 and the healers still only know cure 1.

I don't like to do stuff like that.. I'd just rather SE requires you to have enmity on campaign mobs (not walls) to get any points for buffing.

Simply cap self buffs at 10 points per minute. And you can't even get that, unless you deal, cure, or take 100 damage in that minute. Actually, I wouldn't be adverse to taking out self buff points totally. People are gonna self-buff naturally, to keep themselves alive. It's such a minimal part of the xp you get anyway. Encourage people to buff others instead.

As someone who looks down on the (not surprisingly) growing phenomena of standing around with Allied Tags doing nothing but singing Paeon and Minne, I can clarify that the majority of the complaint is that even if you're there on a job that can't deal damage, or tank, or even heal well, you could still be "leeching" by doing something that is leaps and bounds more useful than singing or casting Bar- spells.

If you're going to be there, do something to contribute. I don't care if you're a level 31 Thief with a White Mage support job, running about casting Cure II, Protect and Shell on people. Society has always looked down on laziness. This isn't new, just a new form of laziness. It's especially pathetic if you're not even there, and using a script or a separate program to do this. At that point you've moved into bannable-offense territory, and you're pretty easily busted if you're sent a /tell and don't respond.

Though I realize no amount of talking about it like this will make it go away, I can definitely get behind discussing methods of MPK'ing these people at no particular loss to them other than they don't reap rewards for doing nothing at all... or at best, encouraging people to otherwise be more productive in a gentler manner. It's the ones that run macro-scripts or are assholes about it when confronted with the subject whom I'd gleefully MPK without a second thought.

Are people seriously getting butthurt about people self-buffing for EXP? Yes, because that 31THF/15WHM with their whopping sub-100 MP without merits/astrals will really make a difference with their Cure spam in the range of one-shot AoEs. What's next, complaining about unpartied WHMs not PLing your lowbie group because they're not contributing to your own personal advancement? They aren't hurting you. They aren't training mobs on you. With how Campaign is run, the fight presumably ending sooner with their "help" won't help you, either. If you're at the point where you find yourself relying on puny 30-90 HP cures, I'd also suggest reevaluating your combat methods.

LFG sucks these days, and unless you're a BLM, BST, or have some secondary account PL, it can be difficult to make meaningful progress without relying on 5 others that might not exist at any given point in your search. SE could easily give the lowbies something to do in Campaign that could be considered productive, but until they do, go be a hero on your own time, not at the expense of others.

There was a reason the MPK patch came to pass, and the sense of entitlement that inspired so many attempts looks to be rearing its ugly head yet again. No, they shouldn't be botting, but you can't guarantee you'll never surprise a legit player, either (Hey, I can make a legit SE macro the lets me look away from the screen for 45 seconds!). Will you raise them? Doubt it. Unlikely you even ask if they're not AFK before you mete your vigilante justice.
