Help settle a CSI argument

Alright so I was watching CSI tonight, a line in it is "Rember where they found Manson at the Barker Ranch" This started an argument between two of us, neither of us have any evidence, but think we are right.

One person says Manson was found under a pile of hay, hiding in the loft.

The other says he was found in a crawl space above/in the attic.

So basically, does anyone have a clue if either of these are right or what the real story was?

The sink was in the washroom too, this is the correct answer.
