    PsP not working

I had just borrowed my friend's PsP and he hasn't updated its firmware since he got it (Official firmware, no mods/hacks). I went to upgrade it and it disconnected halfway through. Now I get a black screen when I go to boot it up with the green light one, which stays on for 30 secs and shuts off. Anyone know whats wrong?

What you have there is a bricked PSP. Shutting off the PSP in any way during a firmware update, official or unofficial, leaves the PSP without a working firmware to boot off of. Thus, making it as useful as a brick. Don't know if most store warrantys would cover this but it is always worth a shot, just say the PSP doesn't turn on.

But for now, the only fix for you is to use the "Pandora's Battery" method - http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/news/pandoras-battery.html
You will need another PSP that has a modified firmware already installed on it to create the said battery though.

Leave it to sony to make some retarded bullshit like that
Theres no kind of system restore or something along those lines I could do? Don't want to have to pay money for a fuck up of a design flaw on Sony's part.

You should consider yourself lucky that some guy out there found a way to create the Pandora battery or else you would have had to buy your friend a brand new PSP.

And lol at blaming Sony when all you have to do is not hold the power off switch for more then 4 seconds.

Yea, can really see where the internet going out while the psp is updating is a screw up on my part. gtfo, really. And I'm sure you'd be pissed if your pc lost internet connection while windows was downloading and update and then you couldn't log on anymore, but wait, windows isn't designed to do that, and neither should psp. Go fuck yourself.

Ugh I'll let you figure out on your own what was wrong with what you just said.

I'm not arguing with you anymore just reading what you type is giving me a headache.

Go buy your battery and unbrick the PSP end of story.

As for the matter at hand, yeah the only way apart from sending it back to Sony is a pandora's. If the PSP is still in warranty then you should be able to send it back and have a free repair. Failing that if you take it to one of those electrical/repair anything shops they probably know how to do it.

    Re: PsP not working

If I remember correctly, I recently updated mine. First you download the firmware, then you have to go under your memory to actually install it, so the internet going out should just stop the download. The actual install is internet free, so there is nothing that should be able to interrupt the upgrade.
