They actually might have; but your argument saying some republican senator whom apparently isnt important enough to remember his name called obama "boy" (wtf?, since hes republican im gonna guess that hes old and gonna assume that is his context over assuming he meant "boy" in some racialized way? [if that makes any sense]) is proof enough that you would call horseshit on someone and claim that republicans are bringing race into the campaign is kind of weak.
for giant run on sentences.
edit: this thread is going to be a serious category 5 shitstorm by this time tommorow
oh, do I need to mention the "will it still be called the WHITE house?" buttons showing up at state GOP meets?
It's not like John McCain is gonna come out and say "that nigger can't be president" but it's definitely there pretty close under the surface in some ways (not necessarily from mccain, but from the GOP generally speaking).
Obama is probably warning that Republicans will bring race into the campaign against him, since well...
...they managed to somehow bring race...into the campaign against John McCain...somehow...back in 2000.
What, you didn't know McCain had an illegitimate black daughter? He fucks negros!
After something that disgraceful, it would be advisable to prepare for when the race bait comes, as opposed to wonder if it will.
yeah I read about that in this weeks Newsweek. boy oh boy, wait until the GOP finds out Obama has LEGITIMATE black daughters.Originally Posted by archibaldcrane

Just...sit on that for a bit.
terrorist fist jabs, labeling michelle obama his "baby's momma"...the right wing is doing everything they can to scream HE'S BLACK without actually saying those magic words.
Now they're accusing him of "acting white", because he relates to white people on issues that white people care about... I wonder if we should have accused Hillary of acting Hispanic when she was campaigning in Florida and Texas?
A plan that says make it social, get out asap and increase it for the rich is the same old stuff that dem's have been crying for years about. He claims he's about change and yet he wants the same failed policies of the past.Originally Posted by Correction

1) Rush is an idiot and a political shock jock and he places guests on his show with said shock value goal in mind.
2) All politicians end up making empty promises and lie.
3) All politicians end up making some form of low/stupid personal attack/comment.
For whoever it was saying that Obama has promised change and has done nothing, I will make one point. All political promises from Obama aside (yes that means I'm not going to mention any of his plans here), there has been one major change he has made that others haven't. He's the first politician in a quite some time that hasn't taken funding directly from special interest groups (e.g. oil companies) for his campaign. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that, that was the situation when I was placing my vote earlier this spring and I've done little research since and most likely won't until I hear McCain/Obama debates in the fall.
This is a common misconception; trolls are not inherently dumb. Their brains simply operate at a lower temperature (since their natural habitat is up in the mountains), so being exposed to higher-than-normal temperatures causes their synapse response to slow down, and they seem to get 'dumber' as a result.Originally Posted by Septimus

Goes counter to your point about the "change" he's made.
No no no no no no no. I'm actually pretty upset at the general reaction to Obama's decision to not accept FEC funding- it's being interpreted pretty much entirely wrong and out of context. His position from the beginning was that he would try to reach an agreement with his Republican opponent regarding public financing and specifically, the role of 527s (most famous 527: Swift Boat Veterans for Truth). Obama had his campaign lawyers/finance people talk to McCain's, but the McCain campaign would not compromise and claimed they had no control/influence over conservative 527s.Originally Posted by Bingbong
So Obama camp decided to opt out of the FEC public financing. Why? Opting in would put Obama and all of his supporters at a disadvantage: the GOP strongly out-raises the Democrats when it comes to 527s, so the equation turns into 85M public money + $X of 527/PAC support. That X will be much bigger for GOP candidates. Freedom's Watch (a 527 involving Karl Rove) reportedly already has $250 million to spend... on attack ads. You see, 527s can't specifically support a candidate with their money, but they can attack a candidate/party/position/etc. Also, 527s typically receive a large portion of funding from big money donors and special interests/lobbies.
So what is the end result? Obama will continue to rely primarily on small donations and be able to compete with McCain and the 527s. MoveOn, which ran one of the bigger democratic 527s in the past couple elections, has voluntarily shut down its 527 in response to Obama's position. So what we're going to see from Obama is a campaign accountable virtually entirely to him, without any outside and frivolous attack ads, and keep in mind he's already set lobbyist funding as off-limits. And ironically, it'll be the Democrat running a privately-funded campaign and the Republican using tax money to pay for his- go figure.
PS more change: "No major party has turned down government funds for the general election since the program was launched in 1976, until Senator Barack Obama did so in 2008"
