random cable question

i've got a Panasonic 37" WS LCD with no coaxial input, but i'd like to run cable tv to it just in case i ever feel like watching it.


is there an adaptor for, say, coax -> component or even composite that i could use, short of buying another piece (VCR, a 2nd DVD player i don't need, etc) for my entertainment center? pic quality doesn't need to be amazing, it's frickin TV.

i searched newegg, didn't see anything that looked right.

No you shouldn't have to buy a component (VCR, etc..) to get it... Coaxial (Cable) plugs are commonly called "F-type" adapters. Check your local Radio Shack or even Best Buy. They should be able to help.
