Because the area where Exp. Lamia pops is divided into 3 plateaus with 2 one-way drops: the top area you come to when you exit the Reef, the middle area where the ??? is to pop the Lamia, and the bottom area with the cave and zoneline to the Reef where most strategies recommend the Lamia is fought.
If you have multiple pops you'll need to kill, tractor, and raise the people with the pops to the middle level so they can pop the NM.
Anyone got a good strat for Nosferatu? Says it can be duo'ed on evilwiki but it doesnt seem like it.
i'm curious as how other people kill this guy as well. he's a real pain in the ass unless we get lucky with him not using charm. otherwise, it's annoying having to zone out and in all day while waiting for tanks to uncharm.
i can see how you would be able to duo it using the puddle to lose hate... but if he gets a summon off, you can't avoid triple jet stream/dirty claw since the summons appear next to you and ws.
even with a standard alliance of plds, dds, whms, and a brd keeping elegy on it, this guy is a real bitch. aoe drain, bloodrake, doom, and charm can get really annoying.
He's really is easy until the last 30-40% or so when he start spamming servitude, then it just turn into a zoning fight.
Bring 2 stunner. Summon are on 1min30 timers, and are pretty easy to stun if you pay attention. He will summon all 9 at some point and rape everuthing, but there isnt much to do .
A balanced 6-7 people group should be able to kill fine if they stun everything, and kite during charm.
Unless your whole party have a pop, just leave those people up the ramp. Tractoring and raising with undead around is too much trouble.
Nosferatu duo is basically DoT kite + some Fire nukes here and there. It could probably be soloed if you were really that inclined to, although T3 ZNMs have more HP than Sky trigger NMs so it would take forever to do that.
As far as a grouping strategy goes. I recommend two tanks. Charm can be obnoxious and Astral Flow has a good chance of instantly killing a single tank. Ranger works wonders for damage on this. It's great because you don't have to worry about getting hit with doom, charm, or its AoE drain attack and their damage on this guy is phenomenal compared to other jobs. PLD PLD RNG RNG BRD RDM could probably do it easily and in good time.
Just killed Nosferatu here on sunday and this was my experience.
Has just finished several armored gears and asked some of the blms to come help afterwards (gears goes really fast with 10+ blms haha). I had about 5 blms, 3 rdm, brd, nin, and thief. Thief just stabbed it once and went to bed. We tried to nin tank + nuke but things were messy.
Ended up dragging the NM to the zoneline and disbanding the party. 1 rdm (me cause I had 5/5 Dia III) stayed inside and would ensure DoT was kept on it. Then the blms would zone in nuke/zone out (NOTE if the summon animation occurs, the next person to attack it even if its 20s later gets hit by the mobs) We did this till about 3-5% then I did one last DoT + zone while the blms formed up outside. All zoned in and obliterated it and reaped the rewards.
Things observed:
The summon really hurts and can one-shot most mages or tank if shadows down
It does an 'astral flow' like thing on one summon where 6-9 pets pop
Has endrain
Likes to do drainlike TP moves
Can cast cure IV.... which HURT it (~15 damage to it)
Has enhanced movement speed
Strat to clear the room for pop: I was rdm so just phalanx + stoneskin up and train all the chigs for the blms to -ga III. The ameratat was off in another corner
No way in hell nosferatu has movement speed...

The red area is were I always pulled him to. Just have your people kite around that square area and there should be no reason to have to zone. When have hate, just keep running. Ive noticed that even when he summons, as long as you keep running, you have time to be out of range of his pets doing their TP moves. Even then, Blink/Shadows will block most of their TP moves if they do get off.
And yes, RNG works great on this. it helps a lot of your rangers have /NIN and W legs but I dont think W legs are needed, just helps.
Did a search and checked wikis, but came up with nothing -- Anybody have an idea what Foolkiller's latent is?
My ls looking to do some Armed Gears and one of our MNKs asked me something I didn't know the answer to, How is Chi Blast dmg on them?
Has anyone figured out what the deal is with Brass Borer choosing the wrong target to Cannonball? Last 7 or 8 fights it's picked the same guy, who was RDM for the first few and BLM for the 5 fights we did Tuesday. It makes it awfully easy when he's glued to the tank but keeps trying to Cannonball someone out of range and failing, but it's really strange and we can't figure out the pattern. The last fight, we had his favorite target Japetus stand aside and do nothing while another BLM stood where he stands and cast the same spells. We couldn't get it to glitch, so Japetus moved back in and started being the Cannonball target without even raising a finger to Brass Borer.
No, we straight-tank it so he stays right next to me, but as soon as Japetus gets to about 10' away he starts trying to Cannonball him every time. It's nice, because all I have to do is hold hate through 6 minutes of "Japetus is too far away" spam, but I'd like to have some idea why it happens.
Just to note that its now nearly impossible to solo tier1 ZNM hydra gigiroon now... (Q_Q)
not because of adds, but because it freaking de-aggros every 2 minutes even with bio2 on.
Then it proceeds to regen to full, with bio2 on, while unclaimed. Excellent.
Not much at all
regular mnk pulled off a 290 when three gears up, past 50% was doing 900+ idk about last 20%
