If it's using multiple tp moves you're nuking it with the element of the day, I've solo/duo/trioed this at least a dozen times now and have never seen anything remotely resembling regain or double tp.Originally Posted by Redness

confirming this (was there). @ about 35%, possibly lower, he ceased up and sat there just sponging up the dmg from everyone. took no actions at all until it died, and was in blm form with his staffOriginally Posted by solsovly
Just curious, but are the shadows lost dependant on your evasion at that time, like other mob aoes?Originally Posted by Rocl

As for Baraera, Ive never died to a Vulpange windshear in one shot and im a taru, but since i dont remember us ever having the bar-spell off when we get hit, I wouldn't be able to gauge the difference in damage. Regardless its easy to keep up shadows when its above 20%ish and then when it gets there and becomes spam happy it's still not bad if you limit the TP from melee strikes (face away from mob and switch off taning duty). Hope this helps some for those that dont have multiple blm at their disposal and/or want to try it melee style.
Also average fight time is maybe a little more than 5 minutes I'd guess as most times I can reuse dodge/focus, but not able to use chi blast 3 times (pennance helps us some I'm sure).
I can believe this because mnk/nin with penance give very little tp, can guard/dodge/parry the ws, deal good damage and got a ton of hp.I will vouch for the MNK/NIN x2 + RDM + WHM combo. However, people need to understand the danger of giving it too much tp with a many people around, especially job with no subtle blow. It's not that it cant be killed by a bunch of melee, we did it fine the first 2 kills...it's just that it wasnt pretty and involved some xp lost from more than half of the team.
In other news, I added Tinnin info. fought it earlier with 11 and it was a joke..kinda. It did wipe us first time, but it was totally avoidable.
I'm sure it was posted in that 94 page pandemonium thread but I don't exactly have the time to read through it all. What kind of alliance would you suggest for Hydra? I seen you mention it was easy to solo tank and such, but what did you bring mainly for damage, blms, smns? Also, if you don't mind, what setup did you use?
Mainly wondering because I have a Hydra pop just waiting on points, and wanted to take it out sometime in the near future.s
Edit: I'm sorry, I'm dumb, missed where you said about the skill chain and the blms, guess thats why I shouldn't browse forums at 1 am. I am curious about how many blms you brought though.
Hydra is slow and elegyable, he's not super hard to tank, but he does auto TP and uses TP moves from what I saw in sets of however many heads he has up. Elegy sticks fine, no need to bard/blm for it, as for slow2, he seemed like Proto Omega for me in regards to landing it, slightly easier though.
Hmmmmm what else , melees weren't as good as blms were for him (we had more blm draw ins than anything the whole night).
Info on Hydra fight here. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=35420
Our BRD said Elegy did NOT land, he stopped trying after several resists though(and he is a pwn BRD who doesn't care about gear too much, lol). He was easy for me to Solo Tank PLD/NIN with no Melee on him, other then for SCs. I don't think he has TP Regen, unless it is very weak, he almost never used TP Moves until right after our SAMs jumped on to SC for the BLMs. He does use TP in sets though, sometimes he would use all his TP moves, one right after another, other times just Bulwark>Nerve.
Like Kay listed, as long as you have a rotation for Cursna>Poisona>Cure4/5 right after Nerve, he is very easy. BLMs and MBS wrecked him.
Didnt see this thread, had nice info in it.
The first post should have everything, but our setup was:Originally Posted by Mrdude

It took us around 25 minutes to kill. I'm pretty sure we could kill faster having 1 (or 2) melee full time, but we played it safely this time. Skillchain were nice, but far from needed, thief didnt melee at all, and we could have killed fine with 1 blm and 1 whm.
Pld/nin, Rdm/whm, Brd/blm, whm/sch, blm/whm and a 6th healer could probably kill it under 1 hour without much trouble. Maybe you could push it even lower with relic and all, but a 6men setup should probably be able to kill.
Or when it was beating the crap out of you when slow was down.he almost never used TP Moves until right after our SAMs jumped on to SC for the BLMs![]()
"Throw more BLMs at it."
That's depressing, did we really need more of this in the game![]()
Considering most of the game turned into, TPburn/Zerg, it's not a big deal. Besides, Hydra is the only BLM friendly one for T4s.Originally Posted by Mazmaz

BLM always shine in lowman event, and it's the case here. It's the same in sea kinda, except you need a tank this time.
Might wanna put the part where Khromasoul turns into a fucking destroyer of the god damned world from 20% > 0
We thought we were in the clear when he stopped spawning those hammersmith, god were we wrong.
We haven't seen that many death on ZNM until that...
Make sure you have the firepower to zerg the last 10-20%, or it will end up pretty horribly.

What did it do? The adds were a joke too, had one RDM diaga them and zone, they swiped a couple shadows off me but nothing major. The Hammersmiths never even touched me. I don't recall him hitting any faster, he has no good TP moves, he might have spammed Overthrow a couple times iirc but it barely hurt me.
What do you mean? We zerged 40->20% to stop the summoning, then rested full and had no problem last 20%. We used a single tank and no other tp was given to him (maybe thief, dunno?). Can you explain what made it worse, I havent noticed a difference when we fought it (had 7-8 ppl). I will add more info to the first post if needed D:Originally Posted by Zilong
On our fight at around 11% or so, it somehow got TP regain and would just spam like 3x overthrows in a row or the rock smash and just decimated our group of 9 for a good ~15 mins before we managed to kill him.
Though we did break his Jadagna though, so that might've caused him to enter rage mode.
If it was the case, then I gues I won't recommend throwin melee at him as crit is the trigger for destroying weapons.
I'm almost 100% certain that it will cease to call adds(any that are up depop) and just spam Overthrow when it hits 20%. Those Overthrows have a tendency to hulksmash(seriously 1 hit death) any non PLD unless they have a respectable amount of HP. It's definitely worth noting, a small group without a PLD can have trouble here.Originally Posted by Judai
Yeah, I dont think we broke his weapon, that could explain the difference. I think I remember it using 3x overthrow at some point, but it wasn't a spam, and I think it was above 20%.
