I do Khromasoul with rdm+blm. Rdm Keeping it at zone with dot on it, BLM nuking in elemental gear. Overthrow typically puts you in orange with stoneskin on.

How long does it take? 1h?Originally Posted by pchan
I thought it was said you (the tank) can stand just outside of melee range and he won't overthrow you.
Did the armored gears NM with 3 blms. Kited around the salvage tele squares, doing circles when we all nuked together, then just doing squares while the other two rested. Fight was fine until 30%, at which point it started to cure IV like crazy. Got up to about 40%, then we got it to 25%, then it got back up to 35%, exc exc. At some point(between 23 - 24%) it stopped curing. Otherwise it's just a standard kite fight.
I would say no less than 3 blms. You could solo it if it didn't go cure IV crazy, often twice in the span of 10 seconds like this

Also, Heavy Armature looked pretty cool. Anyone know where I can find the dat for it and protect IV? xD
Still haven't corrected Khromasoul in the OP. >_>

Magical critical hit!Originally Posted by Vistani
Takes 2H but the BLM died twice not being careful about overthrow. Add 1 BLM and you can kill it in 1H.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Maybe this is why, despite my merits and gear, that you and everyone else land your debuffs on stuff more than I do.Originally Posted by Vistani
Considering half the BRDs in the game who don't know how to do simple things like therondy and shit, it's not hard. He has decent gear, it was more a joke because he is always talking baout how half the fights gear doesn't matter because you just sub /blm and land the shit naked.Originally Posted by Vistani
I also definatley broke the Trolls Weapon, very early in the fight too. I do recall him spamming Overthrow and I said in party he was getting spammy but none of the overthrows hit me very hard at all.
It was doing ~600-900 damage to our PLD, and was 1 shotting my NIN and the MNK on pretty regular basis, along with mages barring some random stoneskin/distance saves.
We only had 1 BLM too, so those last few % was kinda painful with him just murdering the melee and the PLD not having a good hold of hate.
Next time I think I'll just go with my NIN/DRK full damage reduction set to tank along with few more BLM and see if the last 20% is more managable then.
But yeah, it pretty much have kirin class regain at the last 20 or 10%
I laughed.Originally Posted by Turambar

I have mentioned this a few times in the other thread but probably got lost in the 90+ pages. If you have a your tank be just out of melee range (ala JoL) he won't attack, use overthrow, or rock smash (and he just stands there basically lol). Needs more testing because it may have been a glitch but definitely worth trying.Originally Posted by Zilong
Is that before or after you break his jadagna?
To be honest I am not quite sure as it was our first attempt a week ago or so. We did straight tank it and used some melee till around 40ish percent. Then people started dying and I kinda backed up and turned around (pld/nin). He just stood there casting whm spells and didn't even try to attack at all. The only times he would move forward was when he summoned and the pathing caused him to take a few steps forward (and I just backed up). Made it really easy to tank like this but not sure if his jadagna was broken sorry :/Originally Posted by Zilong

Sorry, will do this time. There was an update I lost due to having many window open at the same time, and couldnt figure what I changed
Overthrow has range that far exceeds normal melee distance. If you don't have a running start with movement speed when the move is charging, you will get hurled. Unfortunately, Khromasoul doesn't have a TP readying message once his hammer breaks; he just shoots off TP moves like they were normal melee attacks. Devastating shit.![]()
Things worth mentioning:
-Chigre-
Please note the kite method~ Numerous times have my group and I taken it to the nearby "square" and kited it with DoT's and melee damage. I was RNG/NIN with Trotter Boots, we had a DRK with c.legs and a RDM with c.legs on another run. The Hate decay on it is ridiculous, It was at the point where I could pull hate off the DRK's guillotine with just Utsusemi. Really easy fight this way, You never get hit if done skillfully. This is how you lowman this NM. (EDIT: Also, has high magic defense!)
-Armed Gears-
Take note of "Heavy Armature". This move puts a ton of buffs on it all at once. A ton of shadows (20 shadows? easily dispelled with Diaga or Poisonga), Haste, Protect4, Shell4, Phalanx, and I think Stoneskin. Spam dispel after you remove the shadows. Our tank described the Haste as the Gear going into "Apeshit" mode.
Also, when the mob heals itself with Restoral, It can gain back a lost gear if it heals above a certain percent, and gain the Physical damage resistance back. Multi-hit weapon spam is cetainly not the way to go on this mob, if you're not careful. Witnessed this mob go from 5% back up to 40% when another LS popped it in front of us. Poor Bastards.
-Dea-
Dea is easy, but hits like a truck. Haha. With Dia3 and Angon, our ranger easily hit upwards of 2200+ damage sidewinder, in terms of it's defense. We trained it to the lvl60 colibri camp tower and pissed off the party there. Gravity sticks well on the way to tower, but it begins to build resistance by the time you make it to the tower. Watch out for Treants and Tigers. ...this thing has auto-regen? I didn't notice it.
-Lamia-
Important to note that this mob does use Charmga, and the fact that you need a Lamian Fang Key to make it to the ??? pop.
