And other reports say that the NM never loses it's resistance... It went pretty smooth and predicable when we did our pops. Lower the HP, lower the defense. At the correct percentages it lost it's gears, and used the Heavy Armature when it lost it's 2nd gear, that was easily dealt with. ...I wouldn't doubt that the other LS we watched got a 'bugged' one. They did take nearly 90minutes to kill theirs with like 10 people, and ...3? BLM's. heh.

Please note the kite method~ Numerous times have my group and I taken it to the nearby "square" and kited it with DoT's and melee damage. I was RNG/NIN with Trotter Boots, we had a DRK with c.legs and a RDM with c.legs on another run. The Hate decay on it is ridiculous, It was at the point where I could pull hate off the DRK's guillotine with just Utsusemi. Really easy fight this way, You never get hit if done skillfully. This is how you lowman this NM. (EDIT: Also, has high magic defense!)

    -Armed Gears-
Take note of "Heavy Armature". This move puts a ton of buffs on it all at once. A ton of shadows (20 shadows? easily dispelled with Diaga or Poisonga), Haste, Protect4, Shell4, Phalanx, and I think Stoneskin. Spam dispel after you remove the shadows. Our tank described the Haste as the Gear going into "Apeshit" mode.
Also, when the mob heals itself with Restoral, It can gain back a lost gear if it heals above a certain percent, and gain the Physical damage resistance back. Multi-hit weapon spam is cetainly not the way to go on this mob, if you're not careful. Witnessed this mob go from 5% back up to 40% when another LS popped it in front of us. Poor Bastards.

    -Dea-
Dea is easy, but hits like a truck. Haha. With Dia3 and Angon, our ranger easily hit upwards of 2200+ damage sidewinder, in terms of it's defense. We trained it to the lvl60 colibri camp tower and pissed off the party there. Gravity sticks well on the way to tower, but it begins to build resistance by the time you make it to the tower. Watch out for Treants and Tigers. ...this thing has auto-regen? I didn't notice it.

    -Lamia-
Important to note that this mob does use Charmga, and the fact that you need a Lamian Fang Key to make it to the ??? pop.
Good stuff, adding it now before I forget.

Think I will add a "weapon skill" section to every mobs like I did for Tier 4. It would be easier to read

    Experimental Lamia

There are several aspects that make this fight interesting although it is not that difficult if handled properly. This Lamia is a ranged attacker and has access to ranged weaponskills. All of its ranged weaponskills are conal and deal considerable damage, so you should position your tank in a way that there are no mages or melee behind him. When its HP is below 50%, it will not persue whoever has hate if they are close enough to be hit with its ranged attacks. I recommend doing this because when its HP reaches 75%, it will summon three Merrow Typhoondancers to assist it and you want to minimize the amount of support your tank will need. The Typhoondancers will assist whoever has hate on the main NM when they are summoned, so make sure your tank is this person. I'm not quite sure how hate works on the Typhoondancers anymore.... It initially seemed like it was shared hate, but future runs seemed to indicate otherwise. Either way, it's recommend to kill the Typhoondancers as four mobs all attacking your tank could probably take him down quickly. Whenever a Typhoondancer is killed, the Experimental Lamia immediately turns to face the spot where it died and uses a conal gaze charm move. Anyone who making 'eye contact' will become charmed. You can easily prepare for this by having everyone face away from the Experimental Lamia is positioned before you finish off every Typhoondancer.

Easier way is just to have one person drop pt and zone her over and over while you kill off each add. All Zeni NMs are passive and will not link/aggro. You can sit in front of the zone and pick off the adds one by one without any danger. She will pop them a few seconds are being damaged, not at only 75%.

It's 2 Typhoondancers and something else, a RDM Lamia that will CS a few moments after you pull it off her. You can just bind it and stand out of range until her CS is dry.

No point in holding 4 mobs and dealing with them, when you can just kill each one by one. She will still charm after each dies but it doesn't matter since you aren't fighting her.

Tanking her by standing out of range is good though, that's exactly how I did it and she never moved to Melee me. It was a joke to solo tank this way, she shoots fast but it's nothing a PLD or NIN can't deal with. Her Ranged WS didn't do much to my PLD but she raped the SAM,THF and BLMs the few times they pulled hate.

Why people arent doing Lamia like we did last time? We had no charmga, no shared hate or anything. Just zoned lamia over and over and killed pet one by one. It wouldnt even aggro us while we were fighting pet

Think pulling to zone and killing one by one is probably more effective. It won't charm your party if its unclaimed.. or being dragged to zone. That way is just trying to complicate something that doesn't need to be complicated.

Zoning does work better but it's definitely worth knowing these things if you're considering doing more than one Experimental Lamia in one go, which to be honest is probably the way many groups will end up doing them simply because of time efficiency.

I guess so. However, if you're bringing a party large enough to kill lamia on the middle floor , you could probably afford leaving a few people behind, or leave a single mage behind with tractor.

Tractor would work I suppose, but I'm not about to ask that from anyone I know. Also, you really don't need that many to kill it without zoning. I'm sure it can be done by six coordinated players.

Where exactly do you fight on middle floor? 5 minutes undead repop are annoying. We killed twice with 7 and 8 last time. I stayed on the middle floor to pop it a second time and it worked out well.

I seriously doubt we would have been able to handle it on middle floor, too many thing could go wrong with shared enmity, charm, blood aggro..etc

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, Wulgauru only takes damage if you attack it from the small arm before the big arm breaks off. Our BLU spotted the difference. Also SA+cannonball is very effective if done properly (600-1.k damage) Predator claws works too but it can be quite tricky to position Garuda to attack the small arm prior to 75%.

I thought this was just full damage from behind? That is why SA+cannonball works, is it not?

Dont think it was mentioned. So it only take damage from the side from melee?

Wulgaru seems to take zero damage when attacked from the front, back and side with the big (right) arm. BLU can only land SA + Cannonball from certain angle - silghtly behind wulgaru and to the left, before the big arm is removed,

    Re: Tier 1-3 ZNMs Discussion

That isn't entirely accurate. The pre 75% full damage proc is possible from directly behind(that's where it seems to occur the most for us), although I wasn't aware you can get it from the side. I posted a fairly accurate explanation already, although with Ahlah's conflicting report there are probably other minor details that should be corrected. Here it is again for reference.

As far as Wulgaru goes I'm pretty sure it's something like this. It begins with a heavy magic and melee resistance. However, attacking it from the very back will sometimes allow you to hit for full physical damage. From 100% > 75% it will continually use Dire Straight. This goes through Utsusemi and Third Eye and deals a considerable amount of damage. When its HP reaches 75%, it will use Detonating Grip once or twice(decent damage AoE, maybe fire based) and its left arm will explode. It then spams Sinker Drill continually, which is similar in damage and nature to Dire Straight. You can get the full physical damage proc from anywhere except the front at this point. If you concentrate your efforts on its other arm, you can blow that one off and it'll just be legs, but I don't recommend this as it's obnoxious and more time consuming to kill unless you have a RNG. I don't know how to get magic to do any kind of respectable damage, if it's even possible.
Going back to Khromasoul. We did our ninth one today and in every single fight the Overthrow spam has started at 20%. I'm not sure what effect his weapon breaking his, but it is not related.

There is also no way you killed it in 5m with that group unless you somehow stunned him long enough that he didn't Bene.
There isn't much luck involved. Groundburst can only and will always be used directly after Warm Up. I can see how kiting would lead you to believe that it can spam Groundburst because you're forcing it to use Warm Up, but when it's straight tanked it's very uncommon. I'm honestly not even sure if it can even use Groundburst before changing to WHM mode because we have not yet observed it in any of our fights. Groundburst is also stunnable, so the few that do go off can be stunned. It would easily be possible for a lone RDM/DRK(without the use of Chainspell) to stun every single Groundburst given the early warning signal and infrequent use. 5 minutes might seem like a stretch, but consider that it's a mage and melee can hit it for about the same they hit an merit mob.

When you say follow "warm up", is it right after like Dea, or next weapon skill? If you dispel warm up, is it going to use it anyway?

It's immediately afterwards, like Dea. Dispelling Warm Up doesn't prevent it.

I have tested Predator claw in last 3 Wulgaru fight we did and not a single Predator Claw landed for zero when attacking from small (left) arm side before the big arm is removed. We brought DRK and SAM last night and they were able to land normal melee hits too. I think part of the reason why you feel that Wulgaru is taking damage from behind is because the damage was inflicted when melee are actually facing the small arm and not directly behind Wulgaru. Feel free to correct me though.

    Achomath:

After 20% HP , he does a Move called " Fire break" which is frontal conal DMG , the PLDs got about 500-600 but the samurai 1 shot death from 1300+ DMG. anyways i guess it should be noted to stress no facing achomath to the mages side.
