Is the evolution of man, our diet, our habitat, our society... is it all natural and parallel to the rest of the animals on the planet? Or is it somehow removed from the rest of the world, and considered an external influence? Weren't we born here, evolved alongside everything else? How or when did we go from being a natural inhabitant of this world to being a foreign intruder? Or is it merely on account of a lack of respect for our cohabitants that these views surface?
Personally, my belief is that everything is natural, and we cannot escape it. While a certain harmony and balance with the world will be the best for us in the long run, that does not necessarily mean that we have to respect the rest of the world to be considered natural within it. We are nature just as much as any other animal, vegetable, or mineral. Even if we build weapons of war and blow the whole place to bits, the bombs we build are no less natural than beaver dams or otters using rocks to open shellfish. We evolved naturally, and every detail of our society right down to the latest celebrity fashions is all part of nature.
