Got 50 total alexandrites from SSR just now. Some of the gears dropped 3, pouches were 10-16

The abysmal drop rate on 35s guarantees that any capable salvage group will spend more time farming 35s than focusing on bosses, because you can only do so many bosses until everyone's capped on 25 pieces.

That means runs don't even guarantee 100 stones each time.

Sure, dynamis is twice a week, but even singles alone nets 100+ unless it's a northland/dreamland run. The 100s that drop easily makes an average dynamis run produce 200-250.

Two dynamis runs is 7 hours at most, but 7 salvage runs is over 11 hours, not including time spent getting the AP, and you won't even get close to 500 alexandrites. Mythic weapon has twice the stone requirement, 1.5x longer time committment to put in, but half the drops; less if you don't run 7 times a week. That means up to 4x as long to get 30k, not counting other requirements equally annoying and much more time invested than dynamis twice a week.

SE wants people to sell, and people working on mythics to buy alexandrite in order to be able to get it in a timely fashion. Unlike dynamis, there's no way a lone salvage shell can do it without spending 2-3 years dedicated to 1 person.

Don't forget to add that in the most cases it's an inferior damage weapon, with inferior stats, and only get the special bonuses if using inferior WS (Mandalic Stab < Mercy Stroke / DE / SB most of the time).

As funny as it is, it's easier to get a Zilart relic than Nyzul Relic.

I'm personally going to cry in POL in the suggestion box. I invite people to do the same, since crying seem to be the only way to get anywhere in this game lately. >_> It's sad really, but dedicating over 1 year (3h a day) for a single weapon per group make no sense to me.

I don't understand their logic. People average 3 75 jobs, if not more, and they won't quit the game faster if they complete their, they are just going to go for another if it's doable

Ppl worry too much. SE changed the requirement once, they can do it again. They are obviously monitoring the drop rate of Alexandrite and frequency of salvage runs.

Arrapago will be the prime choice for Alexandrite farming. 8 cotton pouches + 1 linen pouch is the greatest payoff you could get from any zone (except possibly Bhaflau, but the NMs are a gamble). The new machinery drop rate is a minuscule change, since you could kill every machine in a zone and obtain as many individual gems as a single cotton pouch...

If SE seriously expects more than one person to complete a weapon per year per server, they ought to guarantee 2 drops from machinery with TH adding more. And make the boss pouches 100%, god damn it. ('AC

I actually think rate will be about 2-3 per year.

it certainly won't be 1 per shell per year :( looks like SE wants these rarer; yet stuck job-fixes on some of them anyway heh

Just did Arrapago, and I'm starting to think that the more 35 dropping NMs there are in a zone, the lower their droprate on Cotton Pouches is.
Did QQA > QQTH > Psycheflayer > QQTH > Chariot > QQTHx2 > Boss, and we only got 2 pouches, one off the Psycheflayer & 1 off the Chariot. None of the rats or boss dropped. 40 Alexandrite total (we skipped the 4F QQA because no one in the group needs ares body), so Arrapago Remnants is definitely not anything special, unless you get lucky (all kills were TH3-4). It has the greatest potential (save maybe a crazy bhaflau NM + boss run) but it seems the droprate from the NMs there is lower.
So far I've seen :
Zhaylom : 2/2, both frogs dropped pouches
Bhaflau : 5/5, all spiders dropped pouches
Arrapago : 2/7, none from rats
Silver Sea : 4/4, Hammerblow/Powderkeg/GGs/CC all dropped
and 0/1 so far on bosses.
