I'm starting to wonder if maybe SE's real goal was just to up adoption rate of salvage.

among other things, basically requiring prospective upgraders to buy these things (And in prodigious quantity) amounts to basically subsidizing the hunt for salvage upgrade pieces.

looked at another way, at 8k, it takes, what, 4? alexandrite to afford a legs piece, and only about 100 of them to afford a hands piece.

We have like one of the most active JP cultures across all servers making for cheap Dynamis Currency and "cheap" Alex

Looks like the improvement to Alexandrite drops occurred only on monsters that had dropped gems from the beginning. Archaic Chariots and single gears in Arrapago will continue to drop nothing, although I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

Also, I received no NPC response from anybody in the TAU area after trading gems, aside from some stupid Qiqirn who has taken them and won't give them back.

With the rate you can get alexandrites each run I'm surprised people are still selling them for MORE then 5k each. In August our group got 52 Alexandrites in about 24 runs because they are gay on drops and we suck for not having a TH4 blabla etc.

Same group/setup and we got 212 Alexandrites in 8 runs without any bosses dropping the jackpot pouches. That's over a million gil at 5k each in about 2 weeks time. At this rate we will have 848 Alexandrites in the same amount of runs as we did the month before. That's over 16 times as much as the month before.

Shiva... from the looks of it, is around 7-7.5k. Tried selling for 8 but no one bought, sold for 7k in roughly 2 hours.

it's a market economy. people should charge whatever people are willing to pay.

given that the 'market' value for a relic is around 100-130m on a server (what it would cost you actually buying every coin) it doesn't surprise me that 5k would seem a fair price - remember that these *are* new, and several of them have no direct comparison.

and at least one is probably worth 150mil to whatever LS makes it.

We did arrapago the other day. QQAx2 QQTHx4 Soulflayer chariot ... only 1 qiqrn and the soulflayer dropped.. ended up with 50ish only.

Sunday we did silversea 1f>dekka>GG>GGs>CC and still got 50ish...
