I think we all learned some pretty valuable lessons. This doesn't just apply to account info, just in general, the more gear you get the more you have to lose. I don't think it's much of a shock that people with AV items were chosen to be hacked, or slowly (maybe quickly) lured into giving away personal information. However using this thread to get your anger or frustration out on a certain mod that you have/had animoscity towards is not acceptable. Even mods make mistakes, and clearly it was out of good will, sticking up for your friends certainly isn't a bad thing and although locking the thread was not the right choice, it's not worth making a big deal out of. Then again, this is BG everything has to be blown out of proportion.

Ashira is a friend of mine, so I say this not as any sort of attack on her but I think it still needs to be said. A position of moderation on forums like this is a position of trust. A trust that the power isn't used on a whim based on feelings or protecting a friend. Its an open community forum, moderation is there to deal with rule breakers not censor or control content. Like it or not, this forum has grown far far beyond its roots and the admins do an amazing job to be as professional as possible here. What I'm getting at here is there needs to be some sort of accountability for forum moderators.

I'm not calling for Ashira to be removed from moderation status or anything. As said even mods make mistakes, which of course they do. We're all human here, but it always comes down to how we handle those mistakes.

This doesn't sound like someone that feels they made a mistake or over stepped a boundary. So Hoturi while I understand your desire to defend a friend, from the quote above it doesn't sound like she thinks she made a mistake or understands why its a big deal to everyone. So if I put aside my friendship with her for a second, and speak as a member of the BG community, I would hope that someone higher up the BG chain of admin would have a discussion to explain why its an issue and why people are upset (and why it shouldn't be done again even if they are friends).

Like I said, Ashira is a friend. I've known her since we were both level 7 in Sarutabaruta. So I'm not bashing on her as a person, I'm just saying that as soon as she crossed the line to become a moderator she accepted the responsibility of her job. A job that doesn't include managing content based on friendships or feelings.

It was clearly written the first time. If she feels she has not made a mistake, as her last post suggests, then there is an issue of accountability. Will she repeat? Next time she doesn't like something or wants to help out a friend? Perhaps it is just a simple mistake in terms of clarity of her writing but thats how I took it.

I was explaining why people have their panties twisted in a bunch. Saying its unnecessary or stupid, is unfair. Shes trusted with a power and while the mistake was very minor, the fact she appears to not feel its a mistake is the issue.
