Subjob for second merit BRD

In a two-BRD merit party, one BRD is pulling. What do people usually do with the second BRD?

• Second puller?
  I do find that unless the first BRD is very good, there's often a lag between mobs. But depending on your DDS, that may be OK to slow kills down so you don't lose chain waiting for pops.
• /NIN DD?
  I do this sometimes, hit 20% in parse on colibri the other day (RNG/NIN 31.21 DRK/SAM 25.63 DRK74/WAR 21.92).
• /WHM and help cure?
  Seems unnecessary in most merit situations, but might help DDs ride Hasso more.
• /COR for another buff? Which?
  /COR Corsair's Roll is pretty weak
  /COR Hunter's Roll should be ~10 acc
  /COR Chaos Roll should be ~7% att
  /COR Samurai roll should be ~7 STP
• /DNC for Sambas and one Step per mob?
  Might be good for Aspir Samba with a bunch of BLU, but why would you have two BRD in a BLU burn?

Honestly as the only BRD with good DDs, I know I have trouble keeping up with pulls since I have no Gomlek/Manteel(just picked up a Minstrel's so hopefully this won't be an issue anymore), the last time I went BRD we had a COR/WHM that did nothing but sitting there buffing, and we lost some chains because I just couldn't reach the far pulls and get them back in time.

/NIN to help pull can be a big help, and ensure that both BRDs can keep buffs up full time.

I think this is one of those situational things. How fast can your DDs kill? How much damage do your DDs take? Bird Camp? Is it a competitive area where 2 pullers would be useful?

I usually figure /WHM for helping cure, wake people, status removal, and the like.

brd can still pull /whm and i've been known to help claim/pull as the second bard on lolibri. For mamool I think having the second brd /whm is a must (even with the best of rdm there are times where a well placed cure 3 or a curaga 2 will help keep the chain going). That being said cor + brd >>> brd + brd, bonus points if the cor helps with pulling.

Also what is up with melee brd lately? My friend got a dual brd merit pt where the other brd insisted on meleeing. Needless to say my friend left the party in hope of teaching the melee brd how to pull.

Yeah, the DDs weren't very good (note that one was 74). Also, I think I was the only one using food (mostly kabobs, some bream).

If you got a good healer I do brd/cor brd/nin rolling hunter roll keep march and min, but 9/10 healer cant keep up so people end up going brd/nin + brd/whm to help with the cures and keeping people awake.

brd/cor isn't that bad only trouble with that is if rdm gets slept then its kinda meh. Most of the time if you have decent brds though it tends to outweigh it. On mamools though with melee that can't keep up shadow for dick might run into a few problems.

I agree with this one.

More often than not, your ability to keep up with fast DDs has less to do with how fast you can sing your songs and more to do with running speed. Bard doesn't get any movement+ boots or legs, and that's why the lag happens. With the BRD/WHM helping out every couple pulls it helps keep things rolling tremendously well.

I pulled watch wyverns last night as brd/whm and lived to tell the tale (repeatedly) >.>; so i'd venture to say that a brd can pull most anything with stoneskin, blink, and a well placed lullaby.

I'd go with this as well, especially if you're in a camp where you're pulling from two different directions and/or dealing with a lot of competition.

/WHM. You have the most flexibility that way. You can backup cure, wake the main healer if needed and always have a DS+Curaga II for tight spots. Although extended pulling isn't that feasible while keeping 4 songs up with good melee, SS+Blink is good enough for limited pulling when the main puller is having issues or there is competition.

I pulled chain 110 dual boxing RDM/WHM and COR/WHM once, using both to pull but mostly COR, so I'd vouch to say a good BRD/WHM can do it.

I like being the second bard and /whm, and am willing to help pull though I don't quite enjoy it.

I exped on my DRK yesterday in a 2-bard party, the second bard was /COR20. He used Chaos Roll, it seemed to work pretty well with me there (is /cor affected by jobs-in-party, anyway?). I imagine a fully-leveled sub will work better, but dammit if it's not making me think about leveling COR to 37 ._.
