Erm... You get the same EXP regardless of how you do, it's the ballista point amount that suffers.

Every Sam/Rng who has ever cheapshotted me, has gotten chased down, voked into submission, and Raging Rushed into the dirt.

Melee vs Melee is a lot more balanced.

It's funny that noone mentions voke though, the one time I've had someone else voke me while fighting a different person, it was hands down the most fucked up disorienting situation I've had in game.

Right after they voked me, they ran behind me so as I turned to switch targets to them, so I could switch target back to my main target, they kept sliding just out of view.

I've since used that to screw with people wonderfully.

1 vs 1 War isn't trouble for most jobs, but in a big match, if you aren't paying attention to exactly where I am, you're gonna hate me sooner or later.

This is coming from a relatively easy-pickin's job, who has killed Blu's, Rdm's, not Pld's, cause it's just boring as hell hitting them so I ignore them.

If your official matches are turning into 1v1's where a single job picks you apart, you need to find friends to play with, I always buddy up with a Mnk or Sam/Rng, and then we go wreak ungodly havok together.

    Oh hell yeah.

Though, last time I saw a Monk 2hr, I knew the kid, friends little brother.

So, since I had TP at the time, I 2hr > WC > Steel Cyclone'D him for 1100 Dmg (post multi-hit dmg nerf) which dropped him since he wasn't quite at 100%, and a taru.

Oh it was funny in party chat

Yeah, RDM is sooo overpowered. Except for BLU. They are waaaay overpowered. Oh, and except for SAM/RNG. So OP. WAR with voke is so overpowered, too. And NIN with stun katanas? OP as hell. I mean, wtf. MNK? Strips my shadows so fast it ain't funny. So OP. Don't get me started on BLMs with sleepga and AMII. So overpowered it's not even funny. And good luck killing a paladin. They are so overpowered.

While we're talking about overpowered, wth is up with BRDs sleeping me all the damn time? And SCH? They kill my RDM so easily, it's damn overpowered. WHM/NIN can be just as bad. And THF's with their bolt-changing, it's so cheap and OP. Had a DRK kraken me to death, so they're OP, too! As is BST with a Tiger pet! And one time, a SMN astral flow'ed like 10 of us. I mean, WTF!?

I mean, every goddamn class is overpowered; they oughta nerf 'em all, so my skill-less self can actually kill someone.

Edit: There, summed the thread up nicely for everyone.

Ignoring the things about job adjustments so far we have:

    - Added incentive, such as raised EXP rewards.
    - New forms of Conflict wanted, such as King/Queen and Deathmatch.
    - Instancing Conflict matches, so people don't have to wait on less desirable cap levels.

Out of all of them, The first one seems like the easiest fix to get more people to start playing.

I can think of wonderful things with ballista oriented gear. Certainly, if ballista is fixed to be more rewarding, and many more people go, gear with ballista latents will be a lot more desirable than besieged latents.

You know all those gear with enchantments that nobody ever buys, uses, and makes? Make them purchasable using ballista points. This way people will actually use them, like enchantment: restore MP, enchantment: double attack (the twicer lol) or similar items. SE can also easily introduce gear that enhances resist traits, meant specifically for melees that get pestered by mage debuffs, instead of nerfing the spell itself in ballista.

If they introduce useable and desired gear via ballista points akin to ZNMs, that's even better. Unlike the rest of the game where it's PvE and NM fights can get stale and repetitive after the pattern/strat has been figured out, playing against humans will always be different every time. It'll breathe a new life into the game as a whole.

If campaign and AN is the solo PvE model for rewards and exping, build ballista to be the PvP model for similar rewards and exp.

would be the absolute death of ballista unless they removed the 3 player per side minimum.

imo just remove all nerfs, double player HP, and make all recasts reset on death.

A Reverse Campaign type game would be kinda fun as well, though it'd be completely above and beyond what we have currently in place for ballista.

2 teams, 1 team plays defenders and 1 team plays attackers - defenders protect the fort for a given amount of time, attackers try to defeat the 'fort' before the time runs out - EXP and points for both sides after participating.

Could be something large-scale or small-scale - pretty simple game as well.

this is truth, I know a lot of people quit ballista right after the multihit WS nerf.

Another thing I'd have is remove the stupid LS dequip thing, who cares if people can tell eachother what's happening , /tells do the same thing. Going to ballista feels lonely when you can't lol with your friends.

Perhaps if you'd post something intelligent other than whining, then maybe you could expect more. But I'll I've heard from you, is how stupidly overpowered everyone else is.

Ballista is fine. Other than perhaps some better rewards. Has already been mentioned, and will be added to the bottom of the wishlist, below PvE adjustments.

Class balance is fine, and shouldn't be adjusted for PvP. Ballista and Brenner are team sports, so if you're out on your own and get creamed, it's your own damn fault.

And please think before you post a one-liner again. I know you want post count+1 and all...

Tons of things in Ballista needs to be changed. One of the most annoying aspect of Ballista is having to wait like 20hrs just to play uncapped. Unfortunately when SE gave us diorama, no one seems to join it even though it allowed users to play uncapped ballista 24/7. There's something appealing about doing uncapped ballista in those 3 zones that draws people in. Personally I hardly ever play uncapped because of the difficulty of gear management, and low turnout. Uncapped is just more fun because you can grab your raid gears and go to town. In anycase, that would be one of the first things I'd change about ballista. Allow a few zones designated for uncapped ballista 24/7. That way you don't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to join.

Here are a few other things that I personally think would help ballista.

    - Balancing the team based on jobs that are signed up.
    - designate a job as melee or mage, and split it evenly among the two teams. Even in its most generic format, it would give some balance to teams. Nothing is more boring than having a few mnks or sams on one team and 2-3 rdm or blms vs the other team who only have melees. It seems such an easy fix, and I don't know why they haven't done this.

    - Allow players to join during mid game, even if both sides have even number of players. Currently you are allowed to join a Ballista event if either side is at an uneven number of registered participants. If both sides are even, give the team with lower scores a chance to have someone join them to encourage their chances.

    - Remove registered participant's mark in the match if they log out for a certain period of time, say 5 minutes or so. This way you don't have fucktards who join the game, leaves to raid after the match starts and prevent others from joining.

    - Ballista is about fighting each other in PVP fashion so none of that hiding shit to delay the game or prevent the other team from scoring. They need to implement a form of tracking in the mini map so when we pull it up, we can see every member in the match rather than just our teammates. I don't see how this would give an unfair advantage to anyone or be exploitative. Given the headache of having to track down that single player who choose to hide for whatever reason, i think this technique would be an adequate way to combat those situations.

    - If the above method is too much, then at least have some sort of barrier in the combat zone to prevent people from hiding somewhere on the map that is way out of range.

    - Not allowing the use of normal items in certain match is just retarded, there are times even when the most experienced Ballista player will forget to break out a shihei bag or a stack of ammo, and have to run to a different zone to do it.

    - Change the time format during registration phase. Does it really need to be one whole game day, since the match is also one whole game day. Seems silly, make the 1st 4 game hours the registration window and the last 20 hrs in that game day the actual match. That way it's fast and we can play over and over again.

Having played Ballista for so long, I feel that there are so many ways to encourage people to join the game and make it more enjoyable overall.

They could really let us have an item that would transport us straight to the Herald, for example, from anywhere. Don't you just hate it when you miss out on a huge match because you can like a minute late and all teams are even.... I know I do.

i have not whined. i have provided evidence for why i think certain classes need to be fixed. i know red mage is overpowered because i AM a red mage. i've play it in ballista, and honestly it's not very fun for me or other players. and class balance is not fine. you can keep saying that, but it's really not, sleep 2 should not last for 30 seconds, paralyze shouldn't proc 90% of the time. how can you justify allowing a debuffs to be that strong? i have a red mage, and i know its the strongest class i can bring, but i purposely dont bring it to ballista because it degrades the experience.

and an infinite amount of one liners is better than your attempt at humor at trying to summarize the thread. posting on FF forums, or any gaming forum requires great effort from the OP to extract any kind of intelligent conversation because every thread has to be filled with the peanut gallery fucks like yourself that try to stand above everyone else like they know better. you tried to generalize the conversation into a shitty, unfunny summary and failed; you provided nothing to this conversation and will continue doing so because anyone who thinks class balance is fine doesnt know what the fuck theyre talking about.
