1. He obtained W.legs using our Override system.

He earned the points which he spent using YOUR OWN rules, So what's the problem? You do many Kirin's each week and get decent drops on W.legs with only a couple of people left that need. So he burned his points before he left, premeditated or not, if he WAS your friend you should be happy he has them and that you helped, even if he is gone now. He also returned any pop items he had before he left.

2. He had a member buy him items then left without reimbursing him.

Two Obi's, worth what 10k. An oversight rather than calculated robbery. From the way it was typed in the OP it seemed like the poster was trying to make it look like he had made off with a pair of Dusk Gloves +1 and a Kclub. Sure, not settling a debt isn't good regardless of the size of the debt but I believe this was probably the last thing on his mind when leaving, so probably easily forgotten.

3. He also got help from our LS to complete CoP.

8-2 done is now CoP complete? SE moved the goalposts? Of course you got no benefit at all from having another member in Sea for the time he was in your LS. I myself have helped many people get Sky and Sea and through the course of time many leave, move on to other Linkshells to do events. Yes it is upsetting when this happens but I am still happy that I helped these people achieve their goals and remember the fun of all the pain and of course the expense of getting them there.

4. Friendship means nothing to him, and neither does loyalty.

I am not one of the RL friends posting here or on Glorious LS forum. I am an ingame friend and was long before you. It seems you are just trying to damage his reputation.

He has come back to Ifrit where we all KNOW him so what you are trying to achieve with this warning is a mystery to me. Basically you could type here that he stole your LS bank before he left, we wouldn't believe it because we know him well and that he would never commit an act like this because he is a decent and helpful person that I would help myself without hesitation.

People leave Linkshells and Servers all the time, very few leave on good terms. Often through no fault of their own. So instead of trying to "ruin" a decent friend and player, go get yourselves some counselling and GET OVER IT.

I very rarely get upset with people in FFXI, after all it is just a game, but a game nevertheless where we make friends with people from all over the world that we wouldn't know existed otherwise. However despite what Heru may or may not have done before he left, the OP chose to post here and make a personal attack on him which upset me because I know he is not a bad person. Mixed up maybe at the point he left yes, but not a bad person by any means but was being made to look bad.

I wasn't going to respond to any of those above posts, as I was already done giving my warning, but if you will accuse me of only posting "Sour grapes", I will respond. You can defend your friend, and deny my statement:

Timeline:
-Heru is assisted in getting sea access by the LS.
-Heru gets W.Legs.
-Heru has a LS member purchase items for him, and hold them, waiting for him to log in.
-Heru vanishes.
-LS gets a message from Heru saying he is helping a friend on another server.
Days pass, event are pushed back because Heru was one of our main BLMs, and he could have benifit from them. (CoP missions.)
-Another message is sent to the LS from Heru, saying that no one cared about him here, or tried to stop him from leaving, and he was ditching us, and already transfered.

Also: according to my pop item list, Heru was holding on to a Seal of Suzaku, Genbu, as well as a Diorite and one of our Curtanas. So, please do not say that he gave his pop items back, as he didn't, or the pop item chart on our LS forums would have been updated. I also asked in linkshell, and no one had been traded these items, so unless I am mistaken, or he used some of them outside of one of our events (in itself is an extreme violation of our LS rules), he should still have them. No big deal, they are easily farmed again, but it is an annoyance.

Not only did it hurt people he called friends and that called him friends, but it also was a rather sudden stab in the back with out any kind of warning. In fact, to the point I was told from a LS member that someone was planning to go sea farming with him later that day, and made plans to help out, just to have Heru stand them up and never show up.

He has proven himself to be not a trustworthy person, especially if he can say he told people (which was confirmed he didn't) as well as say no one cared that he was leaving. (How can we care if we were never told to begin with?) So, yes, after lying to the LS, and snatching a pair of W.Legs other more loyal members could have used (a few of which he claimed to be long time friends with on Phoenix, also not informed he was leaving), I don't think he deserves a reputation to be known as a good, trustworthy person.

His actions were not acceptable, and I am warning other LS's to watch out for him. This post was not a smear attempt, or "sour grapes." It is a factual account of events that occured. If you do not believe me, you can ask Aki, Helm, or any other officer/member of our LS who has been there for awhile and knows Heru well. As for moving on, I already had, but since my original post seems to not be clear enough by some of the private messages I have recieved, I hope this clears things up, and makes my intentions for posting this thread to begin with crystal clear.

Simply by all appearances to us, Heru did what we had been warned he would do regardless of his hidden reasons for leaving. We responded how many people who were warned and then got burned would respond - we in-turn warned other people. Accusing Miko of stirring up trouble or reacting in a poor manner isn't only foolish, it's stupid. If you want to snap at anyone, do so at those who decided to smear him on our server and forums in the first place. That is all.

In response to Miko about me taking pop items with me, I did not. I can tell you what happened to all of them.
1. Seal of Suzaku and Seal of Genbu: Given to Akisu after he used his set for a Kirin.
2. Diorite: Used to pop Ullikumi. After a while, I got Despot drop, and both of these were given to Helm to pop Byakko.
3. Curtana: I only ever had one Curtana on me, and when it was used, Higesan took the Gem of the South.
So in response to me being a thief and taking pop items with me, I did not and have said what happened to them. As for the Curtana I had, I bought it from a person in Rolanberry Fields for 50k, so even if I did have it with me when I left, it was still mine.

As for me leaving while Batousai had bought me the Silver Obi, I never received them, so he could just sell them back on the AH to get back the 10k or whatever it is.

As for me not telling anyone in the linkshell I was leaving, I told Yoshinori, who happens to be leadership in that linkshell. When I told Helm this, he replied saying that I didn't tell the "Upper leadership" about me leaving. So if you want blame me for not telling anyone in the linkhell, then it is a lie since I DID tell someone in leadership position, and not to consider Yoshinori leadership would be an insult to him, especially seeing as to how he was responsible for getting new people to join the linkshell prior to me leaving.

As for me lieing about having real life stuff to do prior to me leaving, this is true. I was not plotting anything with my friends as some have said. I was working 40+ hours in the course of 4 days, which took up just about all of my weekend.

I appreciate your attempt at a warning, but I don't think there's anything to be worried about. If he earned enough points to use your override system, then he earned the drop. I don't see a problem with that. It's not like he ninja-lotted them. Does it suck he got them then transferred? Yeah, but I don't think it was sinister on his part.

COP help? Come on, you get XP for fuck's sake and the fights are WAY dumbed down. It's a little time consuming yeah, but it ain't the COP of a few years ago, so again I don't see much of an issue here.

So to sum up: you're bitter about a little time investment and losing a pair of w.legs to a transfer, even though the guy obviously earned them. I think your LS has it pretty easy if this is what you feel is devastating enough to post a BG warning over.
