just thought i should weigh in again

1) What was the total time for the group in the video demonstration to defeat AV. Clarification: From the moment of spawn to the moment its HP was depleted.

we know the entire fight with AV took under 2 hours because of the game day (ice>thunder)

2) Other then for camera characters, were any developer modes enabled on any of the characters active in the fight? Clarification: anything from taking no damage, to scripted bot like behavior.

what would be the point of making a video, if their methods are un-copyable...
also seems pretty clear, most of the players are just standing around with their JA window open and 2hr selected, waiting to tap "enter" once they see AV's dust cloud~

3) We have observed, and been told that killing JOL pets + nuking with proper element will reduce/remove AV's regen. We have also observed that the characters in the fight were using their SP whenever AV used his. What effect is players using the SP supposed to have on AV? The information we have been provided is vague and therefore we cannot tell is its 'working as intended'

actually there have been reports that the frequency of SPs used by AV goes down as he witnesses any player 2hr used during his own. (immediately after perhaps)

4) We noted that players would use their SP ability more frequent then the standard 2hr recast. How was this circumvented?

5) Are there any other hints hidden then the ones stated above? If so how many? Can you point us closer to the answer?
6) Why has any form of hint to the defeat of AV been so hard to obtain from SE?

and unless the develepment team really has been replaced with smack-happy androids we won't get answers to questions like these...
lets phrase a question in such a way that it doesnt specifically reference AV himself, or like Ram said, accuse them of lying to their entire player base...

we all feel your pain re:futility, but i couldnt care less how many fools claim that SE used cheat codes; let them tell us so in which case its unbeatable and i'll shut up.

Cog, it was quite well established in the other thread that there is no 2hr reset or 2hrs being used without actually waiting 2 hours. It's a video put together to be a hint, and they wanted to show whatever the hint was multiple times. Now, given that the hint seems to involves job abilities on a 2 hour timer, they have two choices. Either they can make an 8 hour long video to show the technique off 4 times, or they can... cheat and reset their 2hrs and cut the video so it just shows them doing the "trick" several times in rapid succession.

One can only assume that SE thought us intelligent enough to realize that you don't ACTUALLY have to have each person 2hr multiple times within a 5 minute window to kill AV, but apparently that's wasn't the case.

Well it wouldnt be the first time a gaming company made claims about game mechanics when their testing was still set in 'dev mode'. Even going so far as adjusting how actions play because of these test results. SE has shown that they have human programmers that are subject to errors just like the rest of us.

Cog. There have been pages upon pages (probably a few thousand) of text written on the subject of Absolute Virtue for what... two years now? Not everyone that plays FFXI is a retard. We've got some damn bright people out there that have taken a stab at cracking this. There has been no success in two years. Now, you have stated that this isn't a dead end. You're right. It's not a dead end. However just because you're on a street with plenty of road in front of you doesn't mean a damn thing if your car has no gas. It's not a dead end, but you're not going anywhere regardless.

You can ask all the questions to Squeenix that you like. If you manage to find the red bat phone with a line straight to the dev team, let the rest of us know. Any attempts at getting them to reveal mechanics of the game to the playerbase have failed. They do not answer these questions. You have a battery of these kinds of questions lined up and they are not stupid. They will see this coming a mile away and you'll say "Are there any methods to shortening recast of Lv.1 JA's?" and at best, they'll confirm that there's no way to do this with a "no." That's the best you're going to get out of them. More than likely, you'll get a non-denial denial. "The players need to figure this out themselves."

So pose your questions but expect that the rest of us who have been slamming our faces into walls for two years now over this broken this are pretty much fucking over sitting in a car with no gas and trying to make it run on piss and prayer.

Linktri's right. Alot of good Linkshells have spent time trying to figure this out. After trying out what would seem best, they still have come up short. All the EXP sacrificed.. just for a glimmer of hope.

As far as the two-hour thing goes, I'm still leaning toward the fact that SE just wanted to make it clear that at some point in the fight, you need to use two-hours. I know that's vague, but there's nothing I can come up with that answers the why, when, what questions of it. It was pointed out that COR wasn't around when Absolute Virtue was able to be fought. So that leads me to believe that you don't need to use your two-hour more than once within two hours.

Whether or not there is, wasn't, or is not a reset to two hours is irrelevant.

Spending an eternity testing something that can only be used as often as its name implies is far too impractical for any sane person to attempt for too long.

SE obviously doesn't realize how ridiculous this notion is, and believes that we will continue waste our time testing whatever cryptic message they wanted to relay in that video concerning two hours. Perhaps if we continue to bother them they pull their heads out of their butts long enough to realize that thier little display was and will continue to be fruitless and frustrating, but I really don't think it's the actual wording of the question. They are just unwilling to address the issue.

Also Cog you are an absolute dumbass, dont waltz in here thinking you can outsmart SE, every single one of us can do that, they are still too dense to realize it, go back and read all the old interviews then realize that they get jollys from wasting our time in regards to AV, not actually helping. AV is some gimmick fight and until we get exactly what that gimmick is people simply cannot beat it, the video was VERY LITTLE help if any, it showed us a method that AV can supposedly be locked but even the most professional and powerful and even massively RMTed linkshells are still unable to accomplish it.

As far as we are concerned, the only way to beat AV is to zoom in.
