    Shellra V

    I searched for this and I found stuff that said Shellra V is roughly 25% magic damage reduction, however previously all I ever heard was that it was 15%. I just wanted to get some confirmation as to which one it is.

    I'm pretty sure with 1 merit, it's 24.2%, and each additional merit adds 0.8%. Any tier shell will only give 15% damage reduction to someone with an Aegis (since it caps at 50% and aegis gives 35%) so maybe that's where you saw this?

    Aegis is 25%.

    oh yeah, derr

    well anyway, i think anything over shell 3 will cap an aegis pld assuming they have no other magic dmg taken gear, but I didnt remember the actual percent >_>;

    Claims to be 24.2% with 1 merit and then (~0.8%) with each additional merit. If this is the case, why does the merit say 1 bonus for each?

    Cap is 128/256 (50%)

    Aegis = 64/256
    Shell IV = 56/256

    Shell V (LVL1) = 62/256 , (LVL2) = 64/256 , (LVL3) = 66/256 , (LVL4) = 68/256 , (LVL5) = 70/256

    Shell IV doesn't quite cap with an Aegis PLD. LVL2 Shell V or above will though.

    Try checking BG / Other Wiki for exact #s on this I think.

    It's because much like haste and damage reduction, fractions of 256 are used to estimate percentages so despite what is said, it's usually actually less. Each merit is increasing it by 2/256 which is the best fraction for 1% without going over.
