Probably because one of the most anticipated titles that prompted PS3 sales in the first place was FF13.

Of course Sony will have some big announcements of their own, but one announcement that they can't make is that FF13 is still exclusive for their system. That is huge news.

Again people, this is E3. I doubt they would make a huge jRPG announcement here first in America. Sure that was huge, but that's because it's a Microsoft thing here in the US.

this is ridiculous. it's getting to the point where sony and microsoft need to merge their gaming divisions so we don't have to deal with hardcore console gaming bullshit anymore. ps3 is losing their exclusives to 360, and most of 360's (western-made, I guess) exclusives end up on PC too. Sony is majorly dropping the ball on exclusives, even though I like their system better. I wonder what kind of deals Microsoft is cutting all these jp devs, it's gotta be obscene.

Well.. Final Fantasy has been on Sony and not Microsoft for a long time, so this is a huge step.

I agree that this is an effort to grab more of the japanese fan base too. It will be interesting since this was tried a few times and worked, just not as amazing as anticipated.
