DLC is so overrated. Sometimes it can be nice, but the large majority it's paying 10 dollars for horse armor.
PC on the other hand...
Microsoft
Nintendo
Sony
E3 is dead to me

I'm not a big fan of paying more for extra single player content of a game. wouldn't be surprised if dlc for xbox/pc games can get cracked and ported to pc anyway, at some point (if not already? idk). there's a history of community addons/patches from both fallout and bethesda games anyway.
I'm not sure what to think about the washington DC setting either. I'm trying not to write it off yet. I hope there's opportunity for the New Reno and San Fran kind of stuff in 3.
I can agree with u to an extent, but in most cases Ive found it nice for a few games, this game in particular, i think they'll add nice stuff to it, but we'll see.
But beside sthat kinda hard to choose which system to get it for, both look gorgeous.
Some games are just better suited to DLC than others. It's a question of the game's longevity without DLC. Fallout 3 will likely keep most people occupied for the requisite 2-3 weeks before people start beating the game and after that if new DLC doesn't immediately come out the potential lack of replay value otherwise will sink the chances of the new content making any kind of splash (or for that matter, money).
Without compelling multiplayer DLC has to come out fast and has to be really good to keep a title afloat.
I think download is a good way to deliver freebies and legit, payed for expansion packs. Free multiplayer maps to keep the game going/sales going? Alright, sounds awesome. Extra costumes because you just like your players and had some art guys dicking around between projects? Cool. Paying money for minor extras? meh.
I'd like to see substantive DLC in a way that curbs sequelfests. It'd really be cost-effective too because developers would be working with established tech/tools/engine and minimal distribution costs- they'd get more money and players get more content out of monumental projects.
Addition: at the same time, DLC content shouldn't be an excuse for half-assing initial offerings or essentially overpricing a first episode in a series of episodic content.
I agree, Sony handles the DLC content waaaaaay better than Microsoft. They at least allow you to get mods for games like UT3. Microsoft pays top dollar for all that DLC crap because they get to charge people for it later.

I wont be around for Nintendo's conference ;-; So I may be a bit late in updating the OP tomorrow, hopefully I should be back for Sony's.
So which websites are you guys using for your E3 coverage (both video and text)?
I think it's cool that FFXIII is coming out for 360 (even though I just bought a PS3....), all the games I was looking forward to look even better.
The new 360 dashboard looks like crap though. I don't want avatars, what the fuck. You know they're going to charge $10 for Spartan or COG armor. At least I can still use my gamerpics.
i was using gamestop to watch the live feed
now using gametrailers to watch all HD trailers and such
Ok I think I'm all caught up on my gaming information now... God, so excited for all the games shown at the press conference. Gears 2, FF13, Fable 2, RE5(fuck yeah co-op), Fallout 3...
Can't wait to see what Nintendo and Sony have to show, but I just don't think they'll be able to compare to the stuff coming out to 360 (although if I'm wrong, that will be a good thing).
Like I said, still disappointed with the look of the new dashboard, but hopefully it'll be very customizable, to where it can still be close to the current one.
