New Sonic trailer, Sonic part actually looks... decent, then it shows the first gameplay of the werehog or whatever the fuck you wanna call it and it looks terrible. Strangely show you Super Sonic too, so they're either showing us the ending of the game or for once you actually use Super Sonic for more then just the end of the game.
Anyone mind pointing out a recap on Nintendo's conference? Blogs or what not
I find it unlikely, considering Sony's history of E3 announcements have relied almost entlirely on SE exclusives to win the crowd over. Add that to their historical arrogance and inability to read North American audiences "IT'S RIDGE RACER! RIIIIIIIIDGE RACER!" and it's not looking good. They'd have to pull the lid off of something nobody's ever seen before to score a blockbuster E3. Instead I'm expecting a lot more of the same: FPS announcements, PSN upgrades (nobody even cared about the Dashboard upgrades) and SCEA releases that people have been waiting years for (GT5 Non Demo Version).
any link to a stream of the conference? G4TV's website is about intuitive to work as a front snapping brazier.
I think the Sonic trailer looks promising for the type of game it is. I was never a big sonic fan or a platformer fan, but for a platformer it looks pretty decent; just really fucking fast.
I was watching it on IGN here: http://livewire.ign.com/2008/e3/index.html
Had to install some playing thing through Firefox, but it's streaming without lag and decent quality, so no complaints. It is a few minutes behind the televised (and maybe G4's site, but it was laggy as hell for me) though.
really fucking fast are how sonic games are supposed to be!
glad they finally realized that was part of what made the old genesis sonic games great... of course there's a bit more to it than that, but that was definitely a big part of it all.
Gamespot live feed is up and running, 7mins till content.
Even though we had a good lulz at Nintendo, is anyone else excited about Animal Crossing? I'll definitely be picking it up on the first day.
Only thing is now it just completely seems like "Hold right to win", even taken out having to go out of your way to tap down to spin and jump into enemies, you just plow right through them! Weresonic looks terrible though. ;_;
Using my evil post to say thank you. Also, that sonic game gave me the most hope of anything in the last 2 years, and then it curb stomped it in the junk with the 'action' portions. Le sigh.
Weresonic gave me the feeling they were going for the Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank type platforming feel all the while keep, like Charasmatic said, the old feeling of the super fast paced Sonic experience.
Edit*
It's also possible they do an Twilight Princess-esque mode were you can swap between the two on the fly.
I make OVER 9000 dollars a month
Better version:
The Console War has changed. It's no longer about quality of games, innovation of hardware, or backward compatibility. It's an endless series of proxy battles fought by third party developers and advertising corporations. The Console War - and its consumption of money - has become a well-oiled machine.
The Console War has changed. ID-tagged consoles carry ID-tagged Games, use ID-tagged DLC. DRM inside their software enhance and regulate their anti-piracy. Generic control. Information control. Emotion control. Enjoyment control. Everything is monitored and kept under control.
The Console War has changed. The age of innovation and big dreams has become the age of motion control and casual gaming... All in the name of averting bankruptcy from risky software creation. And he who controls the casuals... Controls the industry.
The Console War has changed. When the casuals are under total control...
Casual becomes routine.
If Sony fails there's going to be a lot of people screaming "consoles are deeaaaaaaddd!" all at once. Oh god, this is worst e3 in awhile, but at the same time the most exciting.
