I've played all megamans 1-7 and X3-X7

There's no damn way the classic megaman games were harder, I honestly beat MM3 without EVER dying.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I did also play MM8 for a few min... not very long though, I think I only got to the intro stage boss before I put it down.

X was an improvement on the main series. I don't know how that can really be argued.

So much nostalgia and this game is going to be successful only for that. It's not like they are improving on the 2d platformer shooter formula. This game won't be fit to lick the bottom of Cave Story's shoe. It's just going to be "Official Megaman 3 Hacked Rom" for 10 dollars. But Wiiware let's me get it for free.

A lot of people have been throwing around the word "rehash" for actual sequels. This would actually be a proper time to use it.

Keep in mind no one on the internet would ever lie or cheat in regards to video game accomplishments, nor would they lie in an argument on a forum. Yes those videos might be legit, I didn't say they weren't, but they and most others probably aren't. Regardless, you can't base the difficulty of a game on videos of players that have everything from enemy spawn points to every bit of geometry memorized.

Judging by your bullshit claim of never dying in MM3 (you would have at the very least died to being knocked off ledges a few times, or to certain bosses if you're playing though for the first time), you're probably full of shit.

No one who has been playing video games all his life could possibly be good at a game.
It's not like any of the Megaman games could be considered any of the hardest games out there.

Megaman games (at least the classic ones) are inherently based off of trial and error and you're expected to die multiple times trying to figure out the levels.

Beating MM3 on the first try without ever dying is not possible, unless you spent days watching someone else beat it, and even then, not so much.

You're full of shit (unless you were butt humping a gamefaqs guide the entire time you were playing), there is really no other way to put it.

ESPECIALLY for someone who would have never played the game before, many bosses are going to be nigh impossible without the weapon specifically designed to defeat them. I really find it hard to believe that you just happened to choose the exact right order of the Robot masters to fight and again just so happened to never die to them without taking time to figure out their patterns.

I played the whole X series, MM7 and MM1-2 before playing the game.
Sorry that I'm not so shitty at games that after having played so many similar game titles I can pick up a game and beating it without dying while you can't.

I distinctly remember Topman being so easy that if you just spam the fire button you can beat him without even dodging! Sparkman was only slightly tougher than that.

Yeah, 8 was on SNES, and afaik Japanese release only. There are some fairly ghetto translation patches though.

MM3 has mostly easy bosses and only 2 hard stages.


Honestly, if you've played Megaman games before you should not have much trouble with Gemini Man (one of his moves is jumping in the same damn pattern as Proto Man but without shooting, honestly if you can't dodge that you fucking suck) Spark Man, Top Man, Hard Man or Magnet Man.

I don't even remember Needle Man so I can't comment much but I'm certain he wasn't overly hard BECAUSE I don't remember him.

The only stages that were any trouble for me were Shadow Man's stage and Magnet Man's stage. After playing as many Megaman games as I had played I already knew to take my time and watch the patterns of moving blocks and when swamped with enemies jumping from tiny block to tiny block, so those slight obstacles were very little more than a slight annoyance.


The HARDEST part of MM3 for me was fighting the MM2 bosses.

Some more tidbits released already is a new adaptor for the Wii to make it more accurate and a PSP update.
