LBP is looking better and better.
I don't see why people think Sony's conference was good Nintendo and Sony both had shit the only one that wowed me was 360's and I'm a freakin Wii user.
What wowed you was FFXIII right?
Lol seriously. If that's the case, then the PS3 wowed us before already with the same content.
PS3 wowed me though with not only how well they put the presentation (making a conference that lacked a ton of content still semi-interesting with the LBP graphs and such), but with Resistance 2. That looked so fun/bad-ass.
360 had their Gears/RE5, and such... but after that, they delved into XWii360 and shit, then broke out FFXIII. Meh is what I had to say to it after the initial surprise.
Holy shit Siren is next week
FUCK YES. Good timing lol
The only good thing about the 360 conference was the FF13 announcement. This was a surprise that none expected and is huge news. But thats all... they are getting a compressed version of the PS3 version for it to fit on DVD's vs. Blu-Ray. Sony showed the most content and the fact you can rent/own 1080p movies off PSN is pretty big. 360 is definantly more alluring [in general], but most everything they showed was updates to old content
So, anyone want to break down the current (not 5 months away "Home" and "Netflix" crap) pro's/con's of PSN vs Live. What was stupid question 2 months ago seems a little tougher to answer now.
G4 had Killzone 2 gameplay as well later that night, and it looked really good for a product that still wasn't finished.
As Xavier said, the 256 player MAG game will probably be very difficult and structurally improbable to pull off, but imagine if real planned strategy becomes involved. Clans schedule clashes and 200+ people strategically plan a raid, going over map positions, likely enemy positions, architecture layout, etc. It could, could be nothing short of fucking stellar and groundbreaking. I really doubt you'd be able to just randomly stick a random 200+ person raid together and do anything cohesive though.

Joystiq on the video store region lock issue...
They say it's IP region locked :O
To be honest, about the only game I'm legitimately looking forward to playing is LBP. The multiplayer in Killzone 2 looks like it could be pretty interesting and God of War 3 is still too far out for me to get excited about. Never have been an RPG person so none of them really interest me. I saw for the first time today that jackass with hair like a rooster playing the drums on the Wii and almost felt embarrassed for Nintendo. E3 has turned to shit but I have faith that the next TGS and GDC will fulfill all of our needs.
Give me a break. Gear 2 gameplay shits all over Killzone/Resistance. I really don't understand the Killzone hypetrain. The original was claimed as 'the' halo killer and turned out to be an average game with shitty controls. Until Sony proves otherwise, this game isn't going to be half as good as a proven IP in Gears. Resistance just has hueg like PS3 mobs, and the novelty will wear off after a few kills. The 5 player horde mode in Gears looks like it'll be way more fun realistically speaking.
And if you're not going to get excited over FFXIII because "it's nothing new" then theres no reason to get excited over PSN's video rental service considering "it's nothing new"... Xbox Live's had the same service for years now. Not to mention that free Netflix creams whatever selection Sony has too.
LBP looks fun, I just hope the game doesn't feel as slow as it plays. The characters move at a pretty slow pace for a 2-D platformer. I'll probably buy it though.
Semi-irrelevant, but an article on the Escapist about Gears of WarSpoiler: show
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/arti...ke-a-Kid-Again
Oh god, another one of your pukey tree hugger Nintendo articles.
Nothing against reliving your child hood memories, but the the whole point of Gears is it's emphasis on oversized bad assness. They wanted to take everything people love about nasty war games, and crank the dial to 11. The whole idea behind Gears is that it's over the top. That's what makes it speshul.
I've personally found Gears pretty shitty and couldn't play it for more than short campaign and a few hours online. But I'm still going to try the sequel, just like I'm going to try Killzone 2. Killzone 2 is promising a lot of changes and good ideas.
Anyway my point is, GoW2 is showing me nothing that shits all over either Resistance 2 or Killzone 2, this is as a neutral party. To make it seem like it's that big of a difference, you are going have to provide a little more insight, because I'm not seeing it. Unless you are speaking in terms of popularity/sales... to which shouldn't we be talking about Wii Sports?
As for the whole movie service, it's not really the same thing. People aren't saying it's new and not many people care. All this does, concerning comparing the conferences, is block microsoft's whole movie service angle.
Speaking of that, netflix thing isn't free.
