Your right, except its probably more civil then the console wars normally are.

So yea E3 sucked this year right right !!!!! But really though knowing that FFXIII for 360 won't even be started on till after the PS3 version is done and released in Japan sucks. You know we aren't getting FFXIII till 2010 right? Going to take them a year to localize and port that shit.

And that's why I love the fact that the PS3 is region-free.

That was pretty much expected since it's what they've done for every single fighting game ever made.

Just wanna add that any game you play online against other people/teams is competition.
If it's CoD4, or Mario Kart lol it's competitive

Arguing semantics = pointless, especially when you know that's not the point.

I like to play games competitively. I won Halo tournaments, and used the money to pay for more gaming. I also like to play TF2, in no clan, and just bust people up. Hoorah for fun.

I'll have plenty of games to keep me busy until I have to consider if I'm going to buy/import FF13. No reason to hold your breath like it's the second coming of christ.

Overreaction is common after E3 but if one simply stops to catch your breath you'll realize some very crucial points:

The overwhelming number of 'reveals' across all three platforms were sequels; A handful of titles were unveiled that we already knew were coming thanks to the Internet. This is Reason #1 E3 fails and will continue to fail for years to come as long as they think the only thing that excites us are content-free teaser trailers.

Vanishingly few concrete release dates were put out. I simply can't be excited about a game unless I know I can play it within the next month or two. That's really as far ahead as my now 30 year-old brain can keep my attention focused on video games.

In the hours following all three press conferences we learned more about the games from sources other than the press conferences in less time, and with much less scripted obnoxiousness. All three platforms failed to deliver on AAA titles that they could have easily whipped the crowd into a Frenzy over had they simply put them in starring roles, rather than shoving them aside for pantomime Rock Band, 3d Everquest Avatars and shiny Dashboard sidegrades.

E3 is dead to everyone, you just don't know it yet.

I don't understand this. If Sony/M$/Nintendo unveiled some behomoth IP people wouldn't be moved the same way they do when they hear theres going to be a [insert system selling title here] sequel.

Who's fault is it for devs relying on their regular heavy hitters to garner attention? People aren't going to say WHOA OMG NEW GAME because it's near impossible to tell if the game is going to be amazing from 1 working demo.

    My cousin on MSN. He was over the moon, I told him that I heard it all before and don't care, and he was sorely dissapointed :{

Maybe it's because he stayed up till 2AM to watch it and I just casually came in to work and read this topic instead :D

The only possible explanation I can think of for why Nintendo had absolutely no games that wouldn't require me to cut my penis off before playing was that they were trying to give breathing room to third-party developers whose titles never seem to be able to compete with their own.

And that would of been a decent explanation except Reggie came out immediately after on G4TV and was baffled how anyone could think that Nintendo hadn't shown hardcore games, mentioning that they had announced Animal Crossing.

The first question on the floor was one to clarify how, if at all, the Xbox 360 release would affect the PS3 version. The short answer is that it won't. Final Fantasy XIII is being developed first for the PS3 in Japan. The Xbox 360 iteration is a port of the PS3 build, but Square was quick to point out that you can't say this will cause a delay of the PS3 release in America. There shouldn't be a delay in any releases.

Previous Final Fantasy games have taken at least six months to bring them from Japan to North America, and then another six months to reach Europe. The team plans on cutting this time down considerably for Final Fantasy XIII. Because of this shorter time, there are no plans for additional content over what the Japanese original has.

There also are no plans to have the games be different on Xbox 360 and PS3. Nothing has been decided for sure yet, but the team is looking at ways to compress the audio and pre-rendered cutscenes that take up a lot of data without affecting the quality when bringing the game from a blu-ray format to the DVDs that Xbox 360 reads.

makes me think the 360 version will be inferior to the PS3's

Thank the people who made Gex64 shortly after Mario64 was released to the public People like that turned nintendo off showing games / gameplay to the public unless they were near completion

I know, a CS of super zelda wii dx would have been awesome, but you're looking at an extremely conservative japanese company who are very out of touch with the current trends and technologies (dvd support? big hard drive? universal friend code + console panel to socialize with friends in online games? etc etc).

Thats great but this is SE were talking about, they have been been pissing around with FFXIII for what 2 years now. We seen the same trailer over and over, I just don't see it being released soon when they have nothing to show for it.

There's no doubt in my mind that sequels sell systems. What my point is that E3 becoming a 'HAY HERE'S OUR NEXT SLATE OF SEQUELS GUYZ' festival is not a good reason for E3 to continue to exist. I know sequels are coming out. It's the status quo, and there's nothing less exciting than the status quo.

I accidentally chose Nintendo because I thought it was a vote for the worst or I thought it'd be funny to pick the obviously worst one, I don't remember.

Fuck this, best game at E3.

Edit: that is how you make a 32 player game fun.
