LG enV 2 and Blackberry Curve

I'm just looking for a IM/Texting phone mainly having Windows Live Messenger and AIM. From what I've read these 2 have them, but my question is, do they run well? I don't want a phone where I have to refresh the contact list, I want it to be in real time *as long as I have a connection* As in, when people sign in and out I want it to tell me. I currently have a sidekick 3 but i'm sick of the big bulkiness! Well thanks for anybody who answers XD.

i'm looking to upgrade a phone myself... looking for the same functions you are demian...

also a cordy keyboard is a big plus for me... i'm always texting i have a sk myself...

but its kinda out of date now compaird to the other phones out there...

i was kinda looking at the voyager from verizon...

but if i have to pay each time to go online or have to pay a fee each time to use its features its not worth it...

mainly i want faster internet conection on my phone along with aim usage and a decent camera... along with video recording... access to youtube would be a nice plus... and i'd like to make video responces on the fly...

i havn't done much research yet... but can anyone point me in the right direction?

the helio ocean was a phone i was considering at one point... but its kinda outdated now...

and i dont think it has video capturing functions on it...

I'm so sick of sidekicks lol. I've outgrown them, I want something different lol. Wolf, The voyager does all that but I just think you'll have to pay a higher fee each month, there is a unlimited plan for like 129.99 a month I think >.<

I love my Sidekick... And the LX is not nearly as bulky as the Sidekick 3. It is a bit wider, but it is much slimmer.

I currently have a Curve, and it works great for email and texting. I tried out a Voyager for 30 days, and I found it to be a lot less functional than the Curve. After using both of the keyboards, I definitely prefer the Curve.

I am fairly certain that aim on the Env2 does not have a real time chat connection, I've never used the one on the Curve so I couldn't tell you for sure.

I had the curve and I hated it. Good thing with the blackberry (cannot say for sure about the other phone, as I don't know), is that you can use AIM and MSN all day long on your unlimited data plan. It doesn't use SMS messages with jivetalk for real time messaging (like a $10 one-time-fee program). I use a blackberry 8820 and I love it, but the Curve keyboard is much much more fit for constant typers.

I have a Curve (posting from it now) with an unlimited data plan (Bell Mobility in Canada), and I use it a lot with Yahoo IM and MSN. I'm quite happy with it, though if you want to use multiple identities (like real name for work contacts and game name for those virtual friends), you're kind of out of luck with the blackberry client.

If you end up getting one, I recommend getting the Opera Mini browser since the blackberry browser has problems on maintaining logins on some forums. The Opera Mini has problems with lots of images on one page (like a typical BG thread with avatars and signatures), but I keep images off - pages load faster that way anyway.
Have fun picking out your new toy!

Get a Blackberry & d/l Jivetalk. I'm currently using a Voyager and the IM program sucks & the keyboard isn't that great either.

HTC Touch Pro! (Whenever it comes out lol)

I use the XV6700 (HTC Apache), and I love it....good keyboard, good phone overall really. Its just that windows mobile 5.0 sucked horrible with it, so a custom upgrade to windows 6.1 (third party sites, is the only way to upgrade the OS). After the custom upgrade, it turns into a great phone.

If you hate getting dust behind the screen, then be prepared to disassemble your curve quite a bit. They have a nack for gathering dust back there. Either that, or keep it cased up as much as possible. As I said, I hated my curve, but I love my Blackberry 8820. If you get a curve, make sure to get the GPS model.

My best friend has the Voyager, he likes it, but he says the touch screen is irritating at times.

The 8820 does not have a camera and the keyboard is kind of cluttered. For the casual user, the Curve is perfect. The 8820 is more of a corporate model (which is what I mostly use it for). The reason I hated mine was because of dropped call issues. I had 4 Curves in the span of a month. All dropped calls like mad. AT&T replaced the phone and the sim card everytime, but never replaced the battery. The chances that all four of those phones were bad is next to nil. They just refused to replace the battery, so instead, I sent them all back and grabbed the 8820. It's a beast of a phone.
