It's just disgusting knowing that people can't even get looked at in their own damn hospitals. That's some 3rd world country shit.

Guards probably have to deal with seeing things like that every day, but they could have AT LEAST tryed to get the lady to sit up while she waited. She was face down on the floor, and the guards couldn't even stop and check to see if she was alive? What the fuck else do they have to do besides stand around?

This happened not to far from where I work, maybe 5 mins away and probably 30 seconds away from Hartford Hospital. The officer seen arriving was actually on the way to another call when he came across the guy in the road. I can’t find the article but the police chief blasted the people of the city for just sitting there watching and doing nothing. It came out about 4 days later that 1 person called 911. The call was placed about 2 mins after the hit and run occurred. Unfortunately Hartford has turned into a shit hole. The guy is paralyzed from the neck down and the drivers of the cars have yet to be caught. Last I heard there was a 20k reward leading to there arrest.



If you don’t know anything about treating medical injuries then yeah moving them or trying to help them is a bad idea, but that doesn’t mean you have to be an asshole and just leave the poor guy laying in the middle of the road. Least you can do is try and comfort him and call 911.

There is no excuse for not calling for help, nothing at all to excuse one person from not using there cell phones.

Its a good idea, not to move them..... but it how hard is it to dial 3 numbers and push send?

Honestly, anyone who willingly goes to kings county knows full well that the place is fucking shitty. No, that does not excuse the people who should have all been fired, not "suspended with the possibility" like the nurse and the 2 guards, it was gross negligence on everyone's part. But I wouldnt be caught dead in that place (bad pun, I know).

That's disgusting... but unfortunately not surprising. I've been in a situation where a large, drunk man was threatening me verbally on the subway and, although it was full and people watched, nobody either attempted to get him away from me or, at least, press the emergency strip (at the time I was about 18, so a big, hairy, drunk asshole threatening and getting in the face and personal space of a young female is something that should affect you in some way). In fact, the reason why he was threatening me was because I told him to stop bothering the older women he was harassing, like sitting behind them and whispering to them not to fucking look at him and such, and I was the only one who said anything.

The story about the old man is fucked up too. The LEAST you can do is call, and ward off cars in case one doesn't see him, and stop any kind of bleeding if you can without moving him. Yes, that is the LEAST you can do. Calling isn't enough. Sometimes people really make me sick.

It sounds more likely that people don't want to help because they don't know HOW to help...you can do way more harm then good if you don't know first aid or anything else, but in a hospital it's kinda moot lol....

I don't know, i would have at least checked if he's still breathing and let him at least know that someone is nearby.

Seriously though how long does it take for them to double check and make sure they are playing dead rather than really dead. It is not a huge deal to go over and at least take the persons pulse or something.

Instead of trying to help the victim, they stand there and film it. A cop comes up and arrests them based on a Good Samaritan law that makes just standing there illegal. There was no injury involved.

If you watch the video you can see that the woman was not just laying there for an hour... She was moving about on the floor, whether it be seizing, a leg twitch, etc.

While it doesn't necessarily explain the people in a psych ward not helping a patient, it does explain the car accident situation. Parallels to the Kitty story are apparent. This is the reason why if you're ever in an emergency, never say "someone call 911," because no one will. You have to actually point someone out and tell them personally to get involved, or everyone will assume someone else will.

3. things.

1. I wasn't surprised in the least that the patient was a black woman.

2. That's the first time, shit like that went down and something was actually done about it. People getting fired/suspended. Most of the time, it's all talking but no action.

3. Another good damn reason why I'm against putting old people in nursing homes and medical facilities. They get treated horribly.

Unbelievable....The video of the paralyzed man getting dumped on the floor was just as shocking as the other two videos.
