Wth is this on FFXIwiki?

QFT. Much better to just go to one website rather than go to one, be dissapointed that what I want isn't there, then go to another. To think that BGwiki is even a comparable information source to FFXIclopedia is delusion. Not to say I wouldn't switch, but right now I see no point.

Sadly, I feel the same way. Regardless of the not-exactly-perfect accuracy of some of the information, it can't be denied they have a very very complete collection of everything.

Some things like the lengthy talk, strategy and testimonials pages a lot of the major battles and NMs have certainly aren't the most reliable, but it can be interesting to read that kind of stuff (where you need a quick answer and don't want to do a massive post search here). ...There are also some generic guides to things (like Salvage) that are more newb-friendly, meaning it's likely easier to digest new information there than the blunt and brutally straightforward bg guides.

Mind you, I gave up on caring about that wiki ages ago (after what little content I did try to upkeep was constantly edited and destroyed of its usefulness)... just like I gave up on lawlKI much longer ago (after what little content I contributed was just copy-pasted elsewhere, or was taken from elsewhere, or was credited to someone else).
...But the bg wiki isn't there yet. I do kind of like having a blue link for literally absolutely every imaginable little thing. It'll take time but I know it will get there.
...And why not contribute? Uh, because even if I'm a disturbing encyclopedia of weird misc xi information like most of the rest of you here (quick! what's the name of the archduke's chef?!), it's nothing compared to what this wiki is trying to achieve and I'll leave it to the experts. ...And stylistically, the 'normal' wiki does have a bit of an edge to my eyes, but I know this is completely changeable with time.

For the love of god, just don't introduce a pop-out tab on the left side that jumps 20 items off at you... ug. Wait, I counted... it's only 15. ...Oh, and bg wiki will always win so long as there's no droprate % collection, lol. Since clearly letting anyone add info and not distinguishing between different levels of TH makes for flawless data. If you do ever do that, make sure it's with a standard of TH4.

I really wish people used all that charitwo hate and focused it on making bg-wiki better. It's really disappointing(and disheartening) when formating/creating categories and pages to realize you are also going to have to fill them up too.
