Hmm, I just had a thought, what if pops on a server "carry over" from 1 pop to the next? Like if you kill 10 forms then let it despawn...Next time you pop it it'll be on the 11th? It's unlikely, and would be incredibly unfair to the first people who pop it...but who knows..
Edit: Crap, didn't read the post above mine where it was mentioned.
When one of our best LSs with some of our best players spend over 18 hours fighting something and not win, we can safely assume something is wrong. Get your head out of your ass and understand that this isn't the first time SE has done something this retarded.
I have no more time to waste on short sighted punks such as yourself.
Oh, and do come back when you actually have some experience fighting this thing. Meanwhile, I'll trust those who actually have over moronic theorists such as yourself.
I think this can be our new mantra for repelling idiots. I can barely pay attention the entire way through dynamis, that shit would be like 6 dynamises, each one making me want to kill myself even more.
It's so surprizing that this patch brough Ixion/Lambtom worm, which were done right - challenging and also fun, but shit like AV/PW are just batshit insane.
LMAO at the people getting honestly offended at people pointing out the mob has been fought 4 times.
HAHA, that's awesome.have no more time to waste on short sighted punks such as yourself.
Again, I understand your frustration for losing all that time and EXP is still eating at you. I was not directly insultng you, although my sarcasm probably made it sound that way. I was making fun of the fact that after you lost ON YOUR FIRST TRY, you declared it a total and complete loss and either you or someone else (too lazy to go back and look) advised everyone else not to waste their time... if no one 'wastes their time' fighting it or figuring it out then how exactly do you expect to ever defeat it? You may not know it now but all the stuff in this thread may be what some LS somewhere needs to figure out how to deafeat it... deafeat it faster... make it easy. If this were the 4th, 5th or 11th time this monster was popped by your LS maybe I can see giving up... but after ONE time?
...as far as having experience with this fight? I fail to see the point in even mentioning MY experience with this monster since my post is about YOU GIVING UP THE FIRST TIME and declaring it a total loss. Im not telling you HOW to defeat him, or even HOW to play the game, Im pointing out the fact that your giving up WAY too early.
I also find it hypocritical that YOU (the quitter) referred to ME as short sighted.
Nothing is broken about it so far, and that's the point being missed. Broken implies that it just doesn't work, glitches up, and has no means for beating it. But it does work. It is possible to beat this NM, no one is debating that... What the problem is here, is that it is an absofuckinglutely ridiculous expectation of SE to think that people would want to put that much into it. What's worse is I'm just about convinced that SE planned this fight to take as long as it did, just like AV is supposed to take 18 hours.
Furthermore there is a drastically huge difference between spending a few hours, if that, of making absolutely no progress at all and giving up frustrated because you're pissed at getting nothing done... And spending hours and hours and hours of making progress only to realize that it takes nearly a day to beat. It wasn't stressed enough how difficult it was to make it as far as we did, and it's ridiculous to think that it wasn't given the proper chance for people to express themselves as they have in this thread.
There may be shortcuts, there may not be. But if you think on any level that we're being obscenely pessimistic and/or lazy to a level comparable to old CoP/KI/Alla nonsense, you are insane.
Once again, technically it's not broken. We know how to beat it, there is a definite way of beating it, and it is possible to beat it. It's just insanely stupid and not worth it at all.
No one is quitting. <.<
Not sure where you're getting it from. People are just pissed/annoyed to a level I don't believe you can really understand unless you tried the fight yourself, as it's obviously apparent that you can't properly conceive how people would feel after focusing intensely on just a damn video game for 18 hours straight.
And if you really disagree with any of that then of course, you're always welcome to just do it yourself.
BtL just blew away 18 hours on that and really we don't have an obligation to do much further. I'll put a detailed update together by the end of the week on the fight, and anyone else interested can go and have a blast. I'm sure other members will continue to post helpful information as well, and we'll all continue to answer questions. But until either a shortcut is found (which again I highly doubt exists), or SE realizes that maybe it was a bad idea and adjusts it, we're done.
To be honest, it would be infinitely more logical for the difficulty and effort it takes if it was just randomly one of the chariots, one of the besieged generals, one of the besieged beastmen, one of the beastmen kings, one of the ToA land HNMs, and then the final. It would still be about a 5-6 hour fight, which even then is rather steep, but their precious item rarity would still be preserved and it wouldn't be completely unrealistic.
...
The problem is never "Can YOU try this again and gleam some results from another attempt?" it is always getting your GROUP as a whole to agree on trying something that was a complete disaster the last go around.
How many people are gonna actually agree to take multiple stabs at 17-20hour fights and not lose their sanity?
Im assuming, by 18 hours straight you mean:
- we fought bravely, intelligently, collectively
- we tried every trick, procedure, idea we could think of although we we're a little preoccupied by lack of sleep, WSs, lag, repops, frustration
- we lost lots of time, patience, and exp
- and that we know ALL their is to know about the NM in 18 hours and now hate this NM so much that we never want to do it again.
is that all correct? Im pretty sure I grasped your 18hrs thing. so here is MY point summed up in two, easy to digest, sentences.
"Don't give up, your info will be helpfull to others."
Tarage isn't in BtL, so you're assuming incorrectly.
But since you so kindly implied that anyone with a disappointed/negative outlook on this NM must be in BtL, and insulted him for it, I'll respond.
Sure, call us quitters. What are we thinking, we gave up on an NM after going at it for 18 hours straight and don't ever want to do anything like it again. We were both physically and mentally sick, members were passing out constantly, people were puking and literally in pain, and a few were getting yelled at by parents to the point if them having to log off FF (for who knows how long). We are selfish, selfish people to want to never do that again and to advice other people against subjecting themselves to it. And we fail at FF too, because man what true FF player wouldn't want to get right back up and do that again? Life and health isn't important, it's beating that NM!
So how about you do your part then, if you're so righteous over this NM being 'found out.' We just blew away a collective 18+ hours of members focusing on just this NM, not including all the other stuff we did to prepare, the difficulty in getting the PW set, millions of gil spent on meds/food/RR, and hundreds of thousands of exp... meanwhile all you've done is sit in your chair in type. And you really think you have the right to preach to us over how little effort is being put into this NM? Yeah, ok.
