I'm really hoping this doesn't end up too horrible. I love the Max Payne games, but obviously video game movies have a very poor track record.

If it has moments that are as creepy as they were in the game, this should be worth a shot. And also if it can pull off the film noir cop narrative as well as the games did.

I'm guessing those are the Drug trip sequences, which I mean, really aren't that far off compared to the levels where you had to walk along the narrow trails of blood or fall to your death.

The movie looks ok, I guess. Little skeptical after Mark's acting in that movie the happening or w/e. Didn't see it, but the gf said his acting was dull and possessed the charisma of a piece of wood.

Everything about the Happening blew ass, I'm sure Marky Mark and everyone else involved would like to pretend like it never existed (except for when we need to slam M. Night's next movie).

I wouldn't hold his performance in that movie against him, he's usually a pretty good actor.

I'd look to Four Brothers and We Own The Night for some of his better performances in the past few years, but that's just me and the fact I love those movies.

looks to be a well made movie. I like Mark Wahlberg too; I think he has the potential to kinda replace Bruce Willis for these kind of major roles. I never played through Max Payne though, are the angels/demons more or less metaphoric for drug influence?

I am actually intrigued. Not sure what's up with the winged creatures, I guess those are nightmare/V-trip sequences. Looks like they combined the 2 games as well. Still, I always thought the max payne thematic underpinnings were practically written for cinema, moreso than graphic novel/video game. Could turn out pretty good.

You went through a drug trip scene after each stage, worst parts of the game. You never fought demons though.

It seems they're using the first games story, which is better than the first for a base. If they can tie it all in it'll be great, especially when they're off capping government dudes.
