Someone I know (sorry, don't want to get people in trouble) is working on the film, I read a script for it over Christmas. Definitely going to be different in many ways from the game, but I still thought it had good potential.

YES. Those parts of the game were so goddamn annoying. To anyone who hasn't played the game, it's well worth a playthrough (even the second for that matter), just try to keep level headed during those bullshit sequences described in the quoted post and don't fuss too much about his constipated look in MP1.

The actor who played Kirill in Eastern Promises would make a pretty good Vlad. I'm quite excited about this actually. Max Payne always stood out as a game franchise that would adapt to film very well (not surprising because the games drew so much from films in the first place), and I'm hopeful that this will work out well. I actually went and dug out my copy of Max Payne 2 on the weekend to play it a bit; it's still fun. Although I wish I could get the FOV fix for my 16:10 widescreen monitor to work without making the game .exe refuse to run.
