^this. It wasn't perfect honestly...but I went in with low hopes since it was a video game movie and it surprised me. It was actually pretty decent, aside from a few story changes.

It was bad. really bad. really really really bad. and not only because I liked the game. I mean it was super duper should win an award bad.

As long as they stayed true to the characters and the initial plot (the murder of his wife and child) then it can't really fail.

Now if Max was turned from a socio-psychopathic loose cannon into a pussy-whipped-no-talent-hack moron who couldn't shoot his way out of a paper bag, that's different.

Mona also didn't play too much of a role in the first game, so it doesn't matter much what they do with her in this movie. Mona as a character didn't become interesting until the second game anyway.

Saw it this weekend.
Was actually decent as a stand alone movie... ignore the whining about angels and such from the fanboys. If you know NOTHING about the game but the title, you'll be entertained.

I just believe the movie could have used more gun battles rather then the last 30 mins. Should have had Morgan Freeman do all the narrating as well... Yes, that would have made it better.
