Hi
Hi
Guessing they wiped, lol?
You'd think the PHs alone would give them buffer. >.>
I have no idea lol, just did a /sea of the area and saw him as that... I laughed a lot. I wonder if he could still take it... things just got more interesting. Idiot is probably on merit mode with no buffer!
Not sure how much merits come into play, but I'm assuming he still has access to his evasion set b/c I can't think of any major 75 pieces for that, and still has Ni...if he doesn't have Dusk b/c of Homam then yeah, could be interesting, lol.
I got a price quote on the sword using my sister's account.
1.5M.
1,500,000g for this sword.
What a fucking asshole.
Jesus Christ, for a Joytoy? Why the hell would anyone pay that. STF them, seriously. That shit needs to die.
They could know if the PH pops outside via a program like ApRadar. And definitely file a report with the STF.
Am I the only one who thought it irrelevant that they were JP?
You're getting outclaimed. Who gives a fuck where they're from?
This isn't monopolising, it's capitalism. There are tons of HNMLSs specifically set up to claim NMs so they can sell the drops. Basically, you're crying about a large proportion of endgame.
Well, people didn't tend to do it to Charybdis :/ trying to monopolise an NM which was not monopolised before is very assholeish, especially since this is not a sellable drop like Gaiters, this is actually a rare/ex drop which requires a buyer in the zone. He is not gaining any tangible benefit from any of the other drops, whereas with selling BB items from the kings, you are at least getting the other abjurations, kote from Tiamat etc.
It's the same as selling Homam.
Really, I'm not saying they're nice guys, but they've seen a niche market, so now you have three choices... Outclaim them, buy it from them, or wait until they move on.
I was referring to it being ra/ex...
I mean, take a look at shells like Excellence, Armada etc... they sell pretty much anything from abjurations through homam to af2
The thf of this duo is in Dynamis atm, so must be outside of window. Also he's now 74 so perhaps they have not always been so lucky ...
Shitloads of ra/ex gear is bought and sold every day.
Monopolies distort and undermine market forces. And since there was a previous discussion of potential uses of bots and other issues, then this isn't just about "capitalism".
Capitalism has a storied literary tradition dedicated to it's inherent qualities and virtues, and it has an equally storied tradition of being necessarily regulated to prevent it's excesses. Capitalism isn't inherently good or bad, its just a system of economics. Without limitations, it can be just as bad as any other economic system.
I do agree that the country of origin of the perpetrators is irrelevant, but stating that it is only about claiming and thus capitalism is a non-sequitur. When attempting to claim Ullikummi from the RMT was my favorite form of self-flagellation, the argument that claiming for "capitalistic" reasons was ok never really seemed very persuasive to me.
To me personally, there is something inherently base and ignoble with the idea that it is ok to prevent other players from having an item solely to gain a profit. This is cockblocking for a profit at it's finest, as the item can not be resold, reused or transfered into currency in any other manner. The fact that the item will not even drop if those that kill the mob already have it is a rather fitting testimony to the nature of the act. This kind of cockblocking is actually quite anti-capitalist, as it wastes resources and fails to maximize profit. This is not the same as farming for pop items, then finding a buyer for potential drops, or having someone pay for a Nyzul drop, or claiming an NM with the hopes of getting one drop and selling any other drops that may go to waste. This is ultimately the in-game equivalent of economic blackmail, "give us the money we want or we will attempt to prevent you from getting the item."
It is also mean-spirited and a rather jerkish thing to do, but those factors don't effect the profit margin, so I guess just saying that makes me a socialist.
I know that the self-proclaimed "capitalists" will declare my stupidity and ignorance of economics, as they have done in the past, but the true and rather funny irony is that these "capitalists" really have no notion about how capitalism works beyond a completely rudimentary understanding of supply and demand, and most of what they advocate is actually quite anti-capitalist.
At no point did I suggest their behaviour was noble or acceptable. I simply stated that SE will do fuck all and that the OP's options are limited.
The tenor of your post was indicative of your attitude toward the situation. Also, your comparison to other more acceptable (to some) practices illustrates your tacit acceptance of the situation. I will agree that you did not state that their actions were noble (it was my own statement that they were not) but you did clearly find the situation acceptable, as demonstrated by this statement: "Basically, you're crying about a large proportion of endgame."
If you misspoke, that is understandable and we can leave it at that.
