First, I apologize for the necro but I figure no point in starting another thread about the exact same topic.

Been camping Chary for a few weeks. Everyone that knows Chary knows and understands how that goes. So tonight myself and some friends are camping it and we miss claim. No biggie. Another person then in /Say mentions how the Ninja that is tanking it is selling it. Ninja openly says he does it with other items too and he checked with a GM and it's fine.

Called a GM and sure enough the GM said it's legal since there can be no proof of a player paying for <insert rare/ex item>.

Sorry for semi-necro but, I don't monopolize charby, I'm only there when someone that wants to buy is on and the window is open. I don't bot, all you have to do is outclaim me, which isn't that hard considering how there'll only usually be me, or me and a buyer, and the room is big.

Most of the time I'm only there on the weekend as most of the people that want to buy it are JP, so shouldn't be in your time.

I think there is a big difference between what you are doing and what Raen Ryong is complaining about. I only read the last page, but it seemed relevant enough. You're not monopolizing, the people he is complaining about are. Monopolizing can get you banned - any luck with that Raen Ryong?

Nakachin is in SSG getting ToD most likely.

Sadly, he has evaded all of the bannings :/ numerous STF reports and GM calls have been to no avail.

Nowadays, as you deduced, he uses that Nakachin to get ToD while Nakakei and Nakaken just move about. Recently, they've mainly been doing Sirocco Kukri with just a bit of Joyeuse and Ungur Boomerang thrown in, though demand for the Boomerang is very comparatively low.

They were after the boomerang when I was going for mine ... while fighting a PH, they blood aggro'd a skeleton and called for help on it. I gleefully watched them die then demanded 4M for a raise. After that they had to HP... hey, the Joyeuse was meant to be "free" too =p

But yeah, since he's after a Mandau, you'll normally see him in an ENM area, in Rolanmart selling things, up at KA/Aery (selling drops on the first and with his LS in the second I presume) or at his usual haunts.

EDIT: Oh, you might be interested in hearing that Nakachin's HP is Jugner Forest... dunno if he's changed that ;D

Was just talking to SquireStrat, whom I guessed wanted to post anon. If he was down there for a few weeks me claiming one day in the weeks he's been down there shouldn't really be much, then again, that was the only time I've seen him down there. Oh well, people will always QQ when someone else claims.

I helped a LSmate camp the joytoy before the last STF report, and we claimed all the PHs before the Nakatrio. It is not hard to do. They really shouldn't charge gil for their "service" XD

That said, the only people I want to camp against for NMs are those that need the drop. Then if they get it, you get a feeling of "Congrats! Go enjoy the item and gtfo because with you gone, I am about to do the same!" These "campers for hire" may help fund a Mandau but don't make the game more fun. Sadly.

So few people know how to claim a NM anyway... usually if you are 10 camping it and you are doing things right you have at least 1/3 chance of getting it ^^

Just outclaim the sellers . Except if they are using bots, it shouldn't be too hard to do it once in a while. If they are using bot, then even GM can't say it's all right ^^

You know... in this situation, you could always do what I did to some RMTs once... Pull a couple of the extra mantas and engage it right over top of them (don't kill it though). Even with Chat filters on, that shit is fucking HARD to deal with. It's hard to time shadows between rounds if you can't see the animation.

Using this strat, I successfully wiped an RMT group with 4 NIN tanks, a couple MNKs, and several mages. Oh, and they got it down to 5% for us. How nice. (This was back in the Siren's Hair days, but it should still work)

Novv works just as well Ess. For me it's a matter of convenience though. Novv is still a little bit of a haul when it comes to getting him from the spawn point to Chary's room. Either one works great if you aren't an idiot when it comes to delivering them to their destination lol. And I've gotta say, Stewie doesn't really come across as a douche with his posts. It's one thing to merc yourself out. It's something else entirely when you're monopolizing a monster and pitching the sword completely when you don't have a buyer. Just sounds like someone got a bit pissy that they didn't get the claim.
