Sub SCH for Dark Arts -> Aspir and melee with Staff (Spirit Taker) and you'll never run out of MP. Buff while meleeing, maybe a Healing Ruby II, and you should easily get some decent points.

If you're not hitting close to the caps for SMN you're definitely doing something wrong. SMNs share XP/AN with their pets, which means that you can easily hit close to cap in a ton of different categories.
My girlfriend uses her SMN in Campaign almost exclusively now. She loves that she can easily rake in loads of points just by cycling through Blood Pacts.
I can break 1k easily on my 56 SMN just spamming Spring Water/Hastega, with the occasional rage BP, SMN is great in campaign and really fun, I love the AoE buffs (too bad Besieged is not the same).
And yes, pet damage counts, before lvl 50 I just had carby hitting the fortification in Eldieme for an easy 250-300 xp every 10 minutes.
40 made it a little easier to lvl SCH in campaign during those long stretchs.
Just run in, get tags, find npcs, accession+buffs. Do this twice, run back, 336-410xp. Repeat til battle is over.
Now at 71, it's lol. I can buff the whole area from one casting if I'm close enough. Log zips upwards at mach speed from all the buffs XD.
Using THF main in Campaign can really help the /BRD types in maximizing the "DMG taken" aspect of their turn ins, especially if you like to test Hide right in the middle of a group of them while an enemy is on you. I know I need to personally verify that my Hide skill still works at least a few times daily to ensure they didn't ninja change anything.
gonna try PUP in campaign :3 ^^
I think I may just get out a dagger and just wack at a wall or something. >_> Seems no matter how much I buff or nuke I get shit for XP compared to my BLU/WAR/DRG. ; ;
I've been getting rewarded for MPK'ing bard bots. It's fun, what I do in bastok markets is diaga the bunch of quadavs as rdm/thf, then flee, then run to the tags, cure myself just to get a tad more exp, die, watch everyone else die, then raise myself on my other character. 1000-1400 exp in just a few mins depending on how many monsters you got in your diaga (the more mobs actively seeking you the more xp you'll get), turn in tags, repeat after you unweak.
Look at this, and experiment a little in campaign: http://www.bg-wiki.com/Campaign_Point_Calculation
Just plain ol nuking and buffing doesn't cut it anymore for me either, so I'm leaning towards other areas, like meleeing, which unsurprisingly is working in my favor.
I'm all for difficult Campaign Battles, but this is getting fucking stupid. I just got out of a battle in East Ronfaure (Beastman controlled, but Allied at about 15% influence) that went:
Dismemberment Brigade defending.
Royal Guards attacking.
Savage Hound attacking.
Aragoneu Knights attacking.
Dismemberment Brigade retreats.
Clan Bear defending.
Clan Bear defeated.
Royal Guards return victorious.
Savage Hounds return victorious.
Dismemberment Brigade defending (2nd time).
Clan Bear defending (2nd time).
Aragoneu Knights retreat.
Allied Forces have retreated...
Dismemberment Brigade returns victorious.
Clan Bear returns victorious.
San d'Oria influence drops to 0.
The 2nd deployment of the Dismemberment Brigade came with the full host of Imps and they stomped all over the remaining Aragoneu Knights that had just beat them and shaved off 100 points for the Fortification. At the end it was just Cerane I Virgaut and a few PCs vs. about 5 remaining Orcs. So the Campaign ends in an Allied retreat and influence is lost, even though the Orcs got shitstomped, their general (Poisonhand) defeated twice, and their Fortification raped for well over an hour.
Any tips for BLM/WHM in Campaign? Besides sleepga the mobs and heading to Nerobots?
Yep, I've done similar- only you Sleepga/ga II them on top of the bots, detag, and zone. Found that one out when I accidentally tagged a few monsters too many with a -ga blast and had to leave in a hurry to avoid getting hammered to death by angry orcs in Sandy.
Come back shortly afterwards to mashed nerobots, no aggro, and a target-rich environment.
yea I agree it's retarded atm not to mention it's ridiculous that the imps spam get super-aga phalanx/protect/shell/blink/SS and cures, where as our crappy healers got single target cures, raise, protect, and shell, and with how long the allied forces have to stay to be "Victorious" it favors the beastmen heavily since they can attack again and again without losing influnce, plus their units[not groups single enemies] seem to respawn for no reason making it so you could kill same few five times and have NPCs hurt pretty badly.
The Imps i can deal with, since PCs can devastate them pretty quickly. They're annoying as fuck, but on DRG/WHM i can fight them 2 at a time to prevent them from healing each other or anything else. If we could ever get the ball rolling in our favor our healing units would be pretty badass too. The reinforcements spawn when those shit bag Transporters arrive, they're easy to kill too but the constant stream of them makes it impossible to catch them all.
I'm a huge Campaign fan, but Fairy is just fucking fail when it comes to PC involvement. Never being able to make any headway is sapping the will of even the most die-hard, and it's just an endless downward spiral from there.
If the requirements for "Victory" and "Retreat" aren't adjusted so that a few remaining allied troops can be victorious before they're crushed by a 2nd or 3rd wave, and thus retreat and lose the battle, the fkn Beastmen are going to win this war no matter what happens in the storyline.
ThisFairy is just fucking fail
I remember I was doing one in Fort KN and it was just Windy NPC's beating on the fort the whole time, no Yags ever showed up. When the battle finally ended it said that the Windy forces retreated in defeat. I mean wtf?
I also remember there a small group of us doing battles in N. Gustaberg, killing the Transporters, doing Slaughterhouse Ops on the fort, winning several in a row, etc. We had fortifications and resources below half and were making some headway on the influence bar. I log on a few hours later and everything was back at full for the Beastmen. Its just insane what you need to do to win regions anymore, I really hope they adjust it back next update.
