Of course it's not the Marvel universe, however Marvel has thought up pretty much any superhero type, and they consider someone with tracy's powers a possibly super mutant of sorts....so I fail to see why....with good writing....it can't be the same in the Heroes universe.

Granted that good writing is a big if.

Oh of course. Many things are similar and derived from Marvel, DC, or some comic aspect in one way or another, but to compare the power levels and potentials is a bit much; especially with all the potentials we've been hoping to see. Not to mention none of the characters have reached a level of power anywhere nearly as strong as Bobby's. The best display of power in terms of overall use and effectiveness is what, Gabriel's violent reaction to his son's death in the alternate future? That blast didn't even vaporize the entire city.

The episode's story seemed rather rushed towards the end. Expensive or not, a battle sequence between three major characters could've made up for things and keep a fanbase, not to mention change some minds about the series and give some hope or wishful thinking.

Regarding Sylar's loophole with the tranquilizer, I think it's one of those differences that aren't clearly explained by the writers, similar to Peter's understanding that he had to go to Pinehearst to see his dad in the 3rd volume. At the beginning of Volume 4, you could argue that Claire shouldn't have been affected by the sedatives with her healing abilities, but she was. Assuming that the same type was used on Sylar (since it's essentially from the same people), seeing him being affected by the tranquilizer was more acceptable.

Edit: And yeah, it really is a big if ... I'll continue to watch it since I hold Redemption to be a big theme, but I'm not holding my breath anymore and calling potential.

That episode made me laugh. Mostly out of how stupid it was. I did like how Peter was able to beat Sylar. Just about everything else was stupid. While I do believe Parkman's ability to be capable of that, that's NEVER something that is permanent and Angela should know that.

Why the hell are so many people complaining about this episode? It was miles ahead of the rest of the season. To complain about them not showing the fight is silly. It's a freaken tv show, not a huge hollywood movie. To show a good fight scene would cost them a fortune that they probably don't have the budget for currently. Yeah I would like to see it too, but I can see why they didn't.

Except the fight scene would have been no different from what we saw in both "Five Years Gone" and the last episode of season one. Given that the flashiest effect would have been the electricity, this fight would likely have been cheaper to stage.

Yeah they coulda used claires blood, who cares...they are trying to get out of the god mode thing they started in the first few seasons.

Except that they weren't trying to nerf Nathan, all he could do was fly. If they really wanted to nerf Sylar, they'd blown his brains out with a hollow point, then burned the body. There's no reason for Noah to have forgotten that Claire's blood resurrected him, and thus, no reason Nathan couldn't have been resurrected.

Caitlyn, the Shanti virus, the formula, Claire's blood... it's almost like they've gone out of their way to completely deny absolutely everything that's happened in the previous two volumes, and expect that we'd just accept it. Almost like dealing with Squenix.




Now, putting aside my disappointment in the logic of that final scenario, I will say I'm interested in the direction taken with pseudo-Nathan. I mean, it's obvious what's going to happen, but knowing the inevitable return of Sylar's memory, I'll spend the next season waiting in utter suspense to see exactly when it happens, and waiting for the blood to spill.

Also, Icegirl has HUGE potential. Remember, in the X-men world iceman is considered an omega level mutant (he just hasn't reached his potential yet, but the writers admit that he does /have/ the potential). Her powers are pretty much the same, and if done correctly she could be a pretty sweet bad guy.

I'm trying to figure out what the fuck her deal is. She was a perfectly well-adjusted conniving woman, and she comes back as a serial-murdering sociopath? I'd love to hear how they justify this one.

Caitlyn, the Shanti virus, the formula, Claire's blood... it's almost like they've gone out of their way to completely deny absolutely everything that's happened in the previous two volumes, and expect that we'd just accept it. Almost like dealing with Squenix.

They are getting rid of all the stupid shit, if I remember correctly the previous two volumes were majorly done with the writing strike.

I for one would LOVE for them to keep all of that shit, especially with time travel, no one ever dieing because of Sylar or Claire's blood, Peter's Dad still being alive, and Peter being able to subconsciously take peoples powers and never using them though! Because no one ever dieing has done wonders for other shows such as....wait nevermind.

And on the subject of Peter vs Sylar fight, I am not going to lie I was on the edge of my seat hoping for one this finale but I loved how they did it with Peter one upping Sylar. There was no way in hell they were giving all of his powers back that easy just by touching Sylar.

I guess this thread is going to be full QQing until the next season pops up where everyone will jump back on the nuts and grab the hairs as tight as they can.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that much of the shit in the last couple of volumes was silly as hell. But, silly as it was, it did still happen. And you can't legitimately continue on without acknowledging those past events without resetting everything(which they didn't do).

Exactly. That would be like Caitlyn showing up and talking to Peter. Just cause season 2 sucked doesn't mean they can ignore everything that happened. Good writers should be able to find a way around it or at least take a few minutes to explain why this can't work and so on. Rather then just leaving thousands with a big question mark over their head.

And for fucks sake, good writers could make more then one season finale in which they didn't kill the same fucking character. Quit fucking with Nathan.

ok i don't like Nathan. he's like lowest 3 characters on my list, but i take you back to season two; hrg gets shot in the fucking eye. Into the brain! They take him to some place, when he gets there he is pale as fuck, lips purple, eyeballs gray. Rigor mortis has set in. They gave him a transfusion of Claire's blood and he comes back to life.

I thought the finale was entertaining. The show has always been endlessly frustrating but I keep watching because even at it's worst it's fun to watch even if it's not that good. *shrug* I'm still along for the ride, even if the show is getting shitty again.

While it seems obvious, I really doubt Quinto will be back on Heroes in anything more then a guest appearance role. Nathan/Sylar is just a way to add a creepy vibe to Nathan now and keep ppl questioning whether or not Sylar will be back. Yeah they can bring him back anytime they want to.. i just don't see it happened solely on how powerful Sylar had become and they have been trying to move away from keeping ppl crazy powerful

They don't know how to kill Sylar because they dont know where his soft spot is.
They came up with the brilliant idea to altar Sylar's mind so that he doesnt think he's Sylar anymore.
But a Senator is dead.
So they decide to make Sylar do it.

Why didnt that revive Nathan? Probably because Sylar is Nathan and if anything jeapordizes that then theyre all dead.

I don't see why this is so complicated for you guys. They dont KNOW how to kill Sylar and they had less than an hour probably to figure something out before the tranquilizers wear off and he kills them all so PLEASE stop saying "HAY WHY DIDNT THEY KEEL SYLAR AND REZ NATHAN LOL??"

Don't be such a fucking idiot. As stated before, they could have melted his body in acid, burned the acid, nuked the remains, poured them in concrete/iron mixture, and dumped it to the bottom of the ocean and that would have done the trick.

Or they simply could have found more tranquilizer and pumped him full of that and just burned the body or cut it into tiny pieces... thrown him in a wood chipper... there was millions of things they could have done.

It's complicated because it had no logical purpose to it. Period.

No amount of rationalizing outside of "Yea, let's ignore the bad writing and say it's just TV" is going to make it good writing.

Sylar wasn't indestructible. A hollow-point tipped slug through his forehead would have completely removed the sweet spot--along with the rest of his brain--from his skull. Then they could burn the rest of the body.

Uh, I know that. My argument wasn't that they kept Sylar alive so that they could kill him. Read everything I've posted. My rant specifically states that if they needed Nathan to talk to the president they could have just had Peter do it and then have Nathan step down, or just MADE the President (through Matt) believe him, or done other things.

There was no logical purpose to keeping Sylar alive. Especially considering the Claire's Blood card they could have played (but didn't, because they're trying to pretend season 2 never happened, which is a colossal mistake).

Like I said. They could have just given him Claire's blood, and he started to heal, but then something was going wrong and he died in front of his family... or they could have made it so that Claire's blood was working but was toxic to his system because his blood made antibodies thanks to having a transfusion from Adam.

There's a myriad of things they could have done. What they chose to do was illogical and stupid. I prefer season 2's logical fallacies over this finale's any day of the week. At least they weren't so far-fetched as we've been spoonfed this season.

OMGSYLARISSOHAWTANDPOPULAR so now we're going to make him:

1) Shapeshift and have Clairsentience so we can kill Nathan and have a convenient plot device later to replace him with.

2) Shapeshift AND invulnerable, so now he can't be killed (even though he can).

3) Nathan Petrelli, so that Nathan is still on the show but not really on the show because Sylar will come back again and then we lose the only potentially great character the show had left.

The writers have made this show all about Sylar ever since Season 1's ending and you needn't look any further than how the show has practically become about him and his struggles. Develop the other characters you have. Fuck Sylar.
