Things I liked:

Angela Petrelli becoming the head of the company
Elle surviving, Bob dying
Peter being the shooter
Ali Larter's character becoming interesting
How Sylar got Claire's power (but how did he find her?)
Maya's significantly more interesting when she's topless
No Micah, No Molly, No Monica
The Speedster
Parkman trapped in Africa and the new guy
The Sprint Product Placement

Things I didn't like:
Angela being Sylar's mother (hopefully a metaphor)
The completely gratuitous villains being stereotypically villanous at a gas station
Time Travel
Mohinder's storyline
Nathan finding God

Things I'm undecided on:
Peter trapped in a villain's body
Nathan becoming a senator
Linderman being back

Overall, there's a lot of potential, but there's a lot of plots that seem forced or stupid. And can we get away from time travel, please? If everyone knew the future before Peter shot Nathan, how come they don't know the future now? Argh, I hate time travel stories. For every good 1, there's 100 bad ones.

Regarding Jessica/Nikki/Tracy -- If I recall from my episode where we met her father, Nikki once had a twin sister named Jessica who was abused by her father and ulimately killed herself. Could this be Jessica, who faked her own suicide and ran away to become Tracy? Or could they be triplets?

It doesn't make sense to me that Tracy and Nikki/Jessica are the same person. Tracy is clearly a close, trusted advisor to the governor of New York; I'm not sure how she gets that position literally overnight, when for the last month or so, she's been either property of the company in their incarcerated facility, *or* getting blown up in New Orleans. Is it possible? Sure. I think it's more likely it's a different person entirely, especially given the entirely different nature of their powers.

After reading the responses in this thread, I'm quite surprised to see how many people didn't thoroughly enjoy the premiere. That being said, I loved it, but I really hope it doesn't suffer from 24-syndrome (premiere/first few episodes being epic and the rest of the season failing to match up).

Random thoughts:

- I see they've added more sob-scenes with Claire, but the Sylar sequence in her house was shot quite well, so that made up for it.
- The new speedster girl is awesome, like her a lot.
- Level 5 baddies are meh, get rid of them.
- I love you Kristen Bell.
- Niki is dead? Tracy is a new character/Jessica?
- Moma Petrelli being Sylar's mom is a decent twist, but brings about the "evil brother" aspect in every sci-fi show/movie... ever.
- Mohinder injecting himself was cool, giving him super-strength is BORING, scaling back disease is cool again.
- Hiro/Ando storyline is rather meh at the moment, hopefully they spice it up a bit.
- HRG gtfo, you're no longer the authoritative figure you used to be... just a chump with no powers and a hot daughter.

That's all that I can think of for now, really looking forward to this season. To the people bashing it, saying it has jumped the shark and what not, no one is forcing you to watch the show or read this thread! Feel free to pass the time until your other favorite show comes back.

It was even funnier because I've heard so many people( including myself) ask how he gets the power, does he eat it or touch, etc. Finally it was revealed! haha

It was really funny to watch her talk to him the entire time while he is poking her brain with his finger. Something very strange about that.

Also I hope the stories converge at least a little bit season 1 felt coherent but season 2 felt scattered and I want them to bring it back together. And the only part I really do not like is the massive quantity of time traveling it just doesn't work gets too confusing and makes too many plot holes.

My favorite sequence was Parkman thinking he was talking to the turtle. I loved that scene. Other than that, I largely disliked it. And this is a heroes thread, it isn't a heroes lovers only thread. It deserves to have criticisms and praise, so GTFO with telling people to GTFO.

Also, I found it interesting that the speedster girl (I wish she had a name? maybe she does, but I didn't catch it) has a french version of the in-show comic The 9th Wonder, and on it is this ice queen thing. Maybe Ali gets a larger role?

They really left what happend to the Irish chick to our imaginations I suppose it would have been nice if there wasn't the writers strike last year I think it really messed up the quality of season 2 and it seemed like there was a lot left open and what not because of it

I think Maya's protesting to Surresh (I'm sure I've butchered that name...don't care! :D) left a pretty clear foreshadowing of the things to come; everybody is going to be faced with the two-sided coin of their powers, how inside they can all be heroes or villains quite easily, but the choices they make is what defines who they really are.

I get the feeling that even Sylar is going to take some sort of turn, not necessarily to become a flowery nice guy but that he'll be motivated by the greater good more than just his own desire for power.

Anyway, while I loved the episodes, I was disappointed on the way they ended it. The whole relation thing seems to cliche, I actually figured they were going to use that way back in season 1.

There is certainly room for Sylar to at least not become the most evil person in the world. He's on a quest for powers, sure, but so far he has killed almost exclusively to obtain those powers, not just to kill people. Which is a difference that should be noted since the level 5 guys are killing just to kill. Truly evil people.

Also, I'm thinking that in Mrs. Petrelli's dream...we may see a scene similar to that but Sylar will then turn and kill the other guys. It really doesn't make a lot of sense for Sylar to lead an evil organization, his motivation so far has always been to get more powers and I think his morals fit closer to that of some of the old school members of the company (Mrs. Petrelli obviously) than pure evil, so I can see him working for the company. Though I'm not sure how that'll be embraced by the "pure" good people like (present) Peter. We'll see. There's a lot of places things could go, which is what I like about the show. Super powers, fantasy, some science and a bunch of things happening at once and not all being predictable is what makes the show enjoyable for me.

Claire: why just lay there while Sylar took her power? I can see the plot reason, but shit was irritating. Also, holy future incest, I know the actors are fucking but can't they be professional?

So they should end their off screen relationship because they are related on a TV show? That makes zero sense. There was nothing in the episode that even hinted there might be something sexual between Peter and Claire.


Also, I just remembered this but I really enjoyed the scene where it cut to Sylar walking through the suburbs and that song (forgot what song it was) was playing and it was all chill and happy and then all of a sudden you see him really cheesily get stopped and just take out 2 agents. That scene had me and my friends rolling.

Sylars motivation in Season 1 was approval/to become special visa vie being the MOST special.

In the cluster fook that was season 2 he lost his powers and went on a quest to regain them. I hate the WGA so, so very hard for making that and other seasons get shorted. The villian on a quest? Nice, and seldom used the way season 2 as using it.

I seriously doubt that Angela Petrelli is his mother. It just goes against his back story to much, not to mention is way to much of a jumping the shark plot device. Is she a manipulative bitch? Oh hell yes. Does she have a new organization under her control and in need of people she can send out and control herself? Yes again. Is sylar a lunatic with a very good track record of eliminating people he wants to? Still a yes.

They way I see it, the companies R&D department may have something worked out to control people we haven't seen yet. Through some contrivance it's in very limited supply. Maybe even its the formula that we're seeing as a plot point; it can't be reverse engineered but enough was made that its still floating around some places.

Getting back to the point and off probably wrong speculation, my guess is that Ma Peterlli is going to fuck with his head good, and he'll become "Good" in the sense that he wont be a free cannon collecting powers at will but more like a Tax collector: your fucked if he's knocking on your door.
