I guess this might be a better context of his question. I don't think Sylar died, but he wasn't the priority like Peter was so he was just not taken to the same room (or not taken at all).

Gabriel was wearing his own style of glasses, like he wore back before Surresh Sr. found him; weren't quite the same as HRG.

As for Peter and not having Sylar's power, he didn't bleed any powers from previous encounters with Sylar; the only powers he had were ones he personally came into contact with. He couldn't liquify metal by touching it, for example (or if he can, he hasn't demonstrated it yet). It's reasonable to assume that since most of the people he came in contact with didn't have a hell of a lot of control over their ability, he could just kind of bleed the effect off of them; Sylar seemed to always be in control, and I'm pretty sure Peter was never in immediate proximity when Sylar was using his own power (particularly signified by the ticking watch sound), so never obtained Sylar's particular ability. He was also never around Kaito Nakamura, so no gain there. Yes, he could go back in time, but let's try to make an interesting story instead of invoking an Occam's Razor sort of solution, eh?

And as already mentioned, Sylar doesn't eat brains, and doesn't get powers simply by killing someone. I'd wager that it's just that most people, he can't find out "what makes them tick" without dismantling them first. Claire being unique (either because of her power or for some other reason? I haven't decided yet), he didn't have to do that.

Ditto. I would have to rewatch to be sure, but I was specifically listening for Jessica, and didn't hear her name. I think we were originally led to believe she was a twin who sacrificed herself to protect Niki, but was that ever definitive? I would have to go back to the season one episode where they talked about it to be sure.

Overall though, I am getting jaded on the show. Seems like they keep getting hit by the Neato Bug, as in "What cool new thing can we do now?" rather than keep plot consistency. Coming back from the dead, time travel, and Stop-the-Apocalypse-of-the-Week are all story archetypes I hated in comic books, and they just seem to be getting repeated here. I sat through a poor second season, we'll see how this one turns out.

Didn't the preview of next week episode have mom-patrelli tell Nathan that he was "given" his power, not Peter?
And... I don't get it, why does Peter need Sylar's power to save the world? It seems Peter would have had Sylar's power since Season 1, but Furture Sylar just showed Peter how to actually manifest the ability since it's not plainly obvious,

With Sylar's intuition, Peter can see how to "fix" the future correctly.

Edit: And, on top of that, Peter never knew what Sylar's ability was... so he can't consciously access it. That is why he asked Sylar to show him, so that he could see it. That's also when Gabriel said "if you can fix this watch, you have it".

oh shit... massive spoiler... if you read below don't hate me

    Spoiler: show

    1) Episode 3x08 - Flashback episode which is a prequel to the pilot
    2) See how HRG and Elle are part of the creation of Sylar.
    3) Sylar's origins explored
    4) Relationship between HRG and Elle is detailed some more
    5) See Knox and learn about his origins a bit

and... Episode 3x07 - Trapped and terrified, Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) and Tracy (Ali Larter) fight for their lives against a much-changed, monstrous Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) to free themselves. LOL

I think there are two reasons.
    1) Figuring out how all the pieces fit (in regards to all the information he knows from time travel and his mother being the head of the company now).
    2) To turn him into less of a pussy. Having his own vice now takes away from his innocence and will turn him into a "real man". He'll have to battle his own demons and will become tougher as a result of it.

There's also the potential 3rd where future Peter doesn't think his own life is worth living and is basically counting on present Peter to fix shit and then consider himself unworthy of being the superhero and killing himself. Which is technically the "big" thing to do.

I find it appropriate that this season is called Villains since just about every character is becoming a villain, or so it seems.

Peter was around Sylar when he used his ability in season 1. I don't remember the ep, but Peter went to Mohinder's apartment after Mohinder failed to kill Sylar, Sylar pinned Peter to the wall, the ticking sound started, said 'I want to see how that works', and started cutting. Unfortunately for Sylar, Peter healed up quickly (which begs the question, how did Peter heal up quicker than Sylar's head-cut, but Claire didn't?) But, the point was made, Peter has to know the power not just be around it to be able to access it. Some powers (like his mom's power) are accessed unconciously, so he does not even need to know that that is a power, but others (like Sylar's base ability and all of his other, lesser used ones, like super-hearing and the like), Peter has no clue on so he does not know he can use them. Of course, this does not explain why Peter had DL's power last year (he never saw DL phase, so why would he know he has the power?), but that is just a small plot hole.

For me, last night ep was the best one since Season 1, kinda put it out there that people not named Sylar and Peter can be bad news. Though, I do hope they realize that the entire 'something bad is gonna happen, here let me show you the crappy future' bit is getting old. Do it once, ok. Twice, I can deal. This is the 3rd episode that took place in a different shitty future, and while I like the show, can we stop showing how crappy these dudes make our future?

My bad on there being 4 girls not 3, I missed that last night ><

Once thing I did notice is that the supposed bad guys seemed to be fighting the good fight in the future. Making them more Hero than Villain.

Now go back to Mama P's precog moment when she saw them and called them Villains.

I am going to go ahead and call that she is the 'ultimate' villain of the season and the ones we saw in her precog moment and the future turn out to be the heroes, not villains.

I kind of wondered about that's even possible. I thought part of their ability was that when they heal, they heal "perfectly". Otherwise, wouldn't Claire be covered in scars? She's been through nuclear explosions, raging fires, car crashes, fallen from incredible heights, and had her skull chopped in half, but it never left a scar. Her healing should be identical to Peters and Sylars. Well, I suppose if Peter was ever near Adam Monroe (was he?) then it's possible that his healing could be different than Claire's if Adam's healing works differently. And this could make it possible for him to scar? But if that's the case, then the nuclear explosion from Sylar should have at least left something?

Apparently all Maya needed was a banging to go from speaking like a girl raised in Central America to a girl raised in Queens.

I figured the scar was from some injury inflicted on him while the Hatian was present to block his healing.
