Yeah. And if you think about it, injury + no healing powers -> natural healing takes effect and creates a scar, then your body doesn't think you need any more healing, so it doesn't correct the scar.

Peter also has the shape shifting ability from season 1 from that chick from Primatech as witness by how he erases the scar to hang out in the present un noticed so I assume he keeps the scar as a badge of honor since even without Claire/Adam's healing he can clearly make it disappear.

Also, I dont think Claire/Adam's healing powers would necessarily overwrite themselves.. I mean Adam's power just seems to be molecular immortality in that he doesn't need sustenance, he can't be killed and he doesn't age, whereas Claire's ability is simply regeneration.

Peter has previously never needed to see the power to gain it, i.e. how he got DL's, Sylar's version of the atomic manipulation or how in this episode when the trio came to future costa verde he was immediately able to access daphne's superspeed (also I noticed he was using the lvl5 fire power which means he should have Jesse's too and that was the most dangerous ability of all according to HRG?).

Jesse had the Banshee's sonic screaming power, didn't he? And that one was the most dangerous, wasn't it?

I KNEW THAT! See, you didn't let me finish talking.

Now as I was saying, the only thing that makes sense in the end is that he got the scar from some injury inflicted on him while the Hatian was around.

Yeah, Jesse was the banshee voice and I'd guess that beyond the simple monodirectional burst peter was able to unconsciously trigger, he can do 360 degree sonic booms which would be epic defensively

They explained that the fact Adam never ages as a side effect of regenerating himself so many times. They pretty much said that Adam is so dangerous due to his body regenerating countless times, w/has made him immortal. I guess that after so many physical manipulations your natural body would forget how to age and ur stuck at perma-"X" age.

Could explain why Future Claire looks the exact same. Yeah I know its only a few years into the future, and after a certain age your body stops aging at a regular pace (i.e a 25 year old doesn't look much different from a 28, ect...). But Claire is supposed to be under 18~ in the show, and realistically you age drastically in those years... so even a version of Claire just a few years older would look a bit different, yet they don't age her in the future clips

That makes sense. I was wondering why four(?) years into the future she still looked like a teenager. Someone at her age would look noticably different in that amount of time.

I assumed his "fire hands" where just the manipulation of Ted's powers like he used back in Season 1. But I forgot about the Pyro guy, I guess it makes sense that he used his instead.

On a side note, why doesn't he just go invisible more! It seems they completely forgot about Claude and his powers. Not to mention Sylar's superhearing should have allowed him to tell when Claire/Daphne etc were entering the place. It just seems they've given Peter/Sylar too many powers to use, and thus the characters "forget" they have all these cool abilities they can use.

Cause he is the "Evil" Peter of the future. Everyone knows you can't be evil unless you have a face scar and speak in a loud whispering voice.

The fire hands Peter was using were blue however Ted's power made him glow red/white. And I totally agree with you on the powers thing it is almost as though the writers completely forget everything they wrote in about Peters and Sylars abilities. Their characters are beginning to annoy me because they don't use the powers they have anymore. The writers of this show are turning into SE instead of beefing up the other characters they are nerfing Sylar and Peter.

I hope we see Peter become less bitchy and more forceful and powerful. Even his future self did nothing but sneak around in the shadows trying to fix things from behind the scenes.

Good episode last night. No need to really comment on anything seeing as everyone is already doing it in great depth.

One thing I will say is that Maya really needs to go. I don't know exactly how to do it, or if Suresh ends up killing her in a fit of beastly rage, but she is annoying as shit and doesn't add to any storyline. She's the Simone of S3 and needs to be axxxxeeedddd.

Well, to be fair. Future Peter was real quick to use a lot of his abilities. Making it so you can attribute present Peter's lack of usage to his nubness. But they could also be forgetting or purposely not using it. It really makes it no fun if you make the two with the highest potential on the side of good and show off how much stronger they are than everyone else.

Future Peter tried to fix things around from behind the shadows because he lives in a future with people who know how to kill him and are TRYING to kill him. He's just become accustomed to being hunted so he always acts like it. Aside from Haitian instances he's been quick to use powers though, aside from Claire, which you can kinda forgive since it IS his niece...

Yeah I figured it was because Claire is his niece but at the same time Sylar and Peters abilities do not have to be used with deadly force, in the house between the two of them they could have telepathically subdued all three of them without anyone getting hurt, I was confused why Sylar did not just pick up the fear dude and fast chick into the air and why Peter did not just yank the gun out of Clairs hand into his own and make her float too.

It's possible that Sylar hasn't been using ANY of his abilities because doing so will draw out his "hunger." Although he clearly painted the future, even that he did reluctantly. He may have already been greatly restraining himself from attacking everyone and trying to cut their heads open, or he may not use TK in general just to avoid succumbing to that hunger.

Present Peter at times seems to be fairly nubby with his powers, but at other times he shows at least partial mastery. It may be he simply is still learning how to adjust and fight with all his abilities under stress (although at times he preforms spectacularly - like against Hiro in S2 and against Claire and the Hatian earlier in the episdoe), other times (like in the Bennet house again in the episdoe) he seems to just be a bitch. I guess its also possible he's already trying to suppress this hunger?

Well that begs the question why is future and past Peter afraid of Clair with the gun?
She has no powers beyond healing and I can think of at least 5 ways in which the gun should mean nothing to Peter.

Maybe it is like everyone is saying and Peter seems to be learning his abilities still even if he uses them flawlessly one second only to falter in the next.

Edit: I guess I was hoping that future Claire would have approached Peter with some new amazing weapon designed special for people like him.

What still kills me is that you have all these people with fantastic powers, yet most fights come down to punching and gunplay, with maybe a little force-pushing.

I sat through a poor second season, we'll see how this one turns out.
You do understand the entire spirit of this show is to be like a comic book?

That's what I understood from the director's commentary in season 1, anyway...

Edit: And nuketwig, the only people I've seen use gunplay/martial arts are the ones who don't have deadly abilities of their own

There was plenty of killing by powers done last seasons.

Of course. But there are elements of comic books that I don't like, and those same elements keep getting repeated here. Coming back from the dead, apocalypse-of-the-week and time travel are all deus ex machina techniques that, if used well and sparingly, are acceptable, but when they become the default, become blase and trite. The sense of wonder and discovery I experienced in season one as these characters learned about themselves at the same time we did is long gone, and that's what originally attracted me to the show. It doesn't help that gaping plot holes (Claire shot Peter and killed him how exactly?) and just flat out ridiculous storylines (Mohinderfly vs. Domestic Violence Man) are my lasting impressions of last night's show.

I guess I can sum it up this way: It was a character-based show, and now it seems more action-based. Action films can hold my attention for 2-3 hours, not 2-3 years. Action comic books can barely hold my attention for 2-3 minutes. I'll keep following the show for the time being, but it's certainly lost a lot of its luster to me.

The Haitian is future Claire's partner so she can still not die, and the Haitian's power still nulls everyones else's. This makes her deadly with a gun. Same reason he was HRG's partner.

    Spoiler: show
Writers/producers have admitted that not all of the "heroes" will make it to the Ch.3 Finale of Villians. Granted that can mean a lot of diff things, but I'm assuming they are gonna kill off at least one

You gotta disrupt that part of their brain where their power manifests itself (i.e. the back of the brain where Sylar examined Claire to discover how her power worked). They showed it happen a few times in Season 1 where Claire & Peter got something shoved through the back of their skull.
Still seems like that part of the brain can regenerate itself, so might have to completely destroy/remove it or w/e
