Has there ever been any confirmation that Hiro can't stop time or is it still all speculation based on certain past events? It doesn't make sense that someone can travel backwards and forward in time but can't stop it x_x, to me it would make more sense that Daphne is just somehow immune to it. Otherwise, wouldn't she be running at normal human speed during Hiro's "stops"? Whether or not he completely stops time, it's clear that she's completely immune to the effects, so we can't use the fact that she's still fast during his "stops" to indicate that it's just a slowing and not a full stop (as was conjectured earlier).
I posted it earlier Woozie, I'll look for the writer post on it later today when I get a chance while at work:
I can go digging to find where it was confirmed...
But Hiro doesn't actually stop time: he can slow-down time to the point where it seems as if its frozen, & he can manipulate time to the extent of time travel.
Now my speculation:
This is why Daphne & Hiro cancel each other out, he can slow down time to the point where she can't flee around, but he can't stop her. When Hiro slows time she is still moving at her "flee" (or w/e u want to call it) speed in order to counter his time manipulation... So, if Hiro stopped time before Daphne started to flee around she would be owned because she would be caught in the same time-space as everyone else.
What doesn't make sense:
Spoiler: show
I just assumed it was all for special effects, and for the purposes of plot development. They needed a way to make Hiro interesting again. What better way than for the silly little hero to get a 'nemesis'.
They seem intent on making some of the older 'broken' powers a little tamer, and introducing some cool new powers, like vortex man.
Wasn't Maury trapped inside his own head cause Parkman had surpassed his powers when we last saw him in Season 2?
Also, wasn't Papa Petrelli dead or something as of Season 1? Tying in Peter's "suicide attempt" to the dad's mental instability and his own suicide?
The Vortex guy and puppetmaster are fucking awesome, can't wait till Sylar kills them. Also, Mohinder as a villain is sooo ridiculous lol
My impression was that Hiro always thought he was stopping time, and it wasn't until he met someone who moved really, really fast that he learned that what he thought was stopping was actually just slowing it down considerably. Now if he was smart he'd make time move at the same incredibly slow speed but in reverse and then there'd be no problem with speedy girl, but you have to remember that Hiro and the others just found out about their powers what, a year or two ago in the canon of the show? (Maybe a bit longer for Hiro since he spent some time in feudal Japan.) No doubt the future, badass, sword-wielding Hiro we've met in a few episodes would have no issues dealing with his nemesis.
NVM
Hiro's power is growing/changing though, that was the first episode he has moved someone else through time/space without touching them.
And no, Maury wasn't in lvl 5. I didn't like how fast they went from "Oh Maury's the guy behind it all" to "Oh Maury's just another puppet"...seems a bit rushed.
This was the first episode this season I had some problems with, Mohinder being somewhat corrupted was alright, but it seems now he's going to be basically unrecoverable as a character. I figure they're going to kill him off.
And has Daphney been working for Maury (thinking she's been working for Linderman) this whole time? The whole thing with her recruiting people seems a bit out there.
Don't hate me if u read below

This show seems to have no build-up for themes. Potential character development seems so random. I guess that would make it more like real life, or even "gritty" though.
I am still laughing at how at Maya not giving a shit AT ALL, NOT EVEN A LITTLE about her brother.
There is some good development, like with Sylar. Or Nathan.
Peter's development or Claire's development? Awful.
Sometimes the writers just don't do the right thing with the story.
Why doesn't Nathan care about his kids anymore?
Cause he's banging Ali Larter? I dunno...
Yeah I think season 2 screwed with where they wanted to go, and now they're just having to go along like 'there are no plot holes ZA WARUDO'
